| | Jay Wilder Quiet Please CD Jay Wilder Discography of CDs
Jay Wilder is a guitar player. He writes for his instrument and brings in any other elements needed to get the right sound. He's a balanced player, tastefully inclined, and drawn most to melody and making sure all the parts work together. Music is certainly an area to challenge yourself, and that's the kind of player he is, whether it be by taking in diverse styles or bringing in new instruments to write for. In this case, he uses traditional Americana as a starting point, bridges in blues, jazz, and country, with some creedance to classical music. Each track was thought of like an author assumes the writing of a a short story - a concise look at a moment, with rich detail and a sense of conclusion not normally found in a passing moment. This recording collection does have a collective arc, which is intentional, from piece to piece for a start-to-finish album experience. It's an interesting blend of economy and ornateness, with a definite direction in mind, and hopefully a good compliment to your next glass of wine or other wind-down moment.Other recordings:Contraption - Self Portrait Quiet Please Music | Category | Rock Albums, Folk CDs | | Label | CD Baby | | CD Universe Part number | 7459022 | | Catalog number | 135135 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | May 29, 2007 |

Purchase Quiet Please CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | John Mayer Battle Studies CD (2009)
Quiet Please album
$11.18 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of ...
| | Tom Petty Live Anthology CDs (2009)
Quiet Please CD music
$19.34 It's a commonly held opinion among fans and band alike that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' lone live album, 1986's Pack Up the Plantation, didn't quite capture the group at its peak, so there has been a long-standing need for another live set, which 2009's Live Anthology finally provides. Like its closest cousin, Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-1985, Live Anthology almost overcompensates for the long wait by offering almost too much music, cherrypicking highlights from 1978 to 2007. In its simplest incarnation, ...
| | Leona Lewis Echo CD (2009)
Quiet Please music CDs
$11.18 The goal of Leona Lewis' 2007 debut, Spirit, was to prove that an X Factor winner could be a phenomenon not just in the U.K., but in the rest of the world. The goal of her second album, 2009's Echo, is to prove that success was no fluke, to build upon "Bleeding Love" and turn Lewis into an actual diva. Certainly, Echo in any of its incarnations -- its song listings are tailored for individual markets, with the U.K. getting a cover of Oasis' "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," while the U.S. gets a second song co-written ...

| | John Fluker J Is For Joy CD (2006)
Quiet Please music CDs
$19.39 After making his solo recording debut mere months earlier with the instrumental piano album The Sound of Peace, John Fluker returned with a holiday set that, at least in part, is more in keeping with his day job as a background vocalist and vocal coach. J Is for Joy takes a handful of religiously oriented Christmas carols and presents them in R&B/pop arrangements that sound more like the '80s than the 2000s. Starting with "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," Fluker makes like a one-man Boyz II Men, keeping the lyrics but largely forgetting the familiar melody and traditional approach. The same holds true on his original, "Follow the Brightest Star," and four other public domain holiday songs. Then, Fluker reverts to his instrumental self, repeating four of the songs in contemporary jazz/new age versions largely without vocals, concluding with a solo piano on "Silent Night." It's as if he can't help trying to show off all his talents rather than coming up with a Christmas album that's consistent all the way through. ~ William Ruhlmann
Vocalist/Pianist John Fluker takes a break as Gladys Knight's musical director to debut his Vocal Christmas CD "J is for Joy". A collection of beloved Christmas Hymns and Carols are given a contemporary twist reminiscent of Stevie Wonder, Donnie Hathaway and Earth, Wind & Fire and the recent newcomer Michael Buble. In contrast to his earlier successful Number One New Age Reporter Top 100 Airplay Chart instrumental Piano CD "The Sound Of Peace" , John Fluker show's his versatility as a Vocalist as well as a Keyboardist effortlessly blending his training from The University of Michigan School of Music with his Pop, Gospel. R&B and Jazz influences.John Fluker's vocal arrangements with Pop stars such as All-4-One, Jennifer Lopez and Rosalyn Sanchez were just the tip of the iceberg and shine uninhibitedly on "J is for Joy".This CD has been described as "feel good music" and carries the spirit of Christmas beyond the season as with the original song "Follow The Brightest Star" co-written and co-produced with Melissa Vardey. This particular cool commercial track blended with the vocal styling of John Fluker exemplifies ...
