Prior to Eric Clapton's pop- and MTV-driven mid-'80s work, he spent the '70s and early '80s playing languid, singer-songwriter soft rock evocative of J.J. Cale and Don Edwards. But Clapton always kept one foot in the blues of his youth. BLUES brings this material together in one place and throughout, Slowhand taps into an inner spirituality that does these blues standards well.

The Sound is AMAZING! Southern Fried Rock, Funk, Soul, and Gospel all fused together. About the Band - (Bio)In an era when all bands sound indistinguishable, the Huckleberrys are a breath of fresh air. The Huckleberrys are fusing together a blend of: Old School Soul, Rock, Funk, Blues, and the Singer-Songwriter genre, to formulate an innovative sound that takes a direct route to your senses and stirs your soul. The core of the band has been together for over a decade and played from Marquette, MI to Memphis, TN and just about everywhere in between. It all begins with the foundation: Jeremy Hall on Bass and Jim Cauley on Drums. When you listen to these two, you don't just hear them, you feel them. Their sound begs comparisons to the great rhythm sections of all time: Motown's Funk Brothers, Bonham and Jones, the Mussel Shoals Band, just to name a few. These two don't just "play" a song they grab your soul, make you start moving, and convey to you what the song is really all about. Cooper Bell is the smooth, dark and mysterious gunslinger. Coop has tastefully blended all of his early ...
| | Ghettodreamz Movement Songs Inspired By The New Orleans Housing Developments CD (2005)
Waiting For My Train songs
$11.35 Dick DarbyMusic Is My Life(The Ghettodreamz Movement)Welcome to the crazy world of Dick Darby, who isn't your typical emcee. Even though his music is heavily influenced by hip hop, it wouldn't be quite accurate to call him a rap artist when he is so much more. With three releases under his belt, Dick continues to make music that pushes the boundaries of hip hop, and the best example of this would be his latest release, The Ghettodreamz Movement: Songs Inspired By The New Orleans Housing Developments. On this compilation Dick experiments with futuristic beats, rock, neo soul, and traditional secondline music while also maintaining a hip hop influence that can be heard in both the music and the lyrics. Contributing artists include several talented N.O. natives like, Likwid, The Flame, Lady May, and Lady Rider, to name a few. Dick's often been compared to the Atlanta based duo Outkast, due to the fact that he is constantly reinventing his style and always thinking outside the box. However, he credits his musical influences to world renowned artists like Arrested Development, Professor Longhair, and Jimi Hendrix, and local New Orleans street performers and brass bands. But his family deserves the most credit, having exposed him to music since he was a little boy. Born in Cleveland, Dick moved to New Orleans with his mother and two brothers at the age of three. He grew up around his grandmother, the late Olivia "Lady Charlotte" Cook, a well known jazz pianist and singer in New Orleans. Not to mention his brother Howard, a.k.a. DJ HC, who grew up to be a respected turntabalist, formerly apart of the 80s hip hop group, Ninja Crew, which also included well known recording artist, Mannie Fresh of Motown Records. With the help of a musically gifted family it's no wonder Dick got into music at such a young age. As he recalls, his very first performance was at age six, when he sang "Oh Dolly," at Louis Armstrong Park in New Orleans, for a talent show put together by the summer camp he was attending.Currently, Dick is working on his next album titled, Music ...
