$10.45 It was not pure ego that led Buju Banton to title his 1993 album VOICE OF JAMAICA; his unique voice is a gruff, melodic instrument, and his lyrics are precise. He built his career on controversial hits and slacker anthems, but has since helped spearhead a movement to swing reggae's pendulum away from sex and violence, back towards conscious lyrics and Rastafarian themes. On `TIL SHILOH, the voice of Jamaica has visibly evolved.
Still, don't ...

Vol. 3-I Megali Otoni songs
$14.79 Recipient of a 2004 NAPPA GOLD Award, iParenting Media Award, and Parents' Choice Approved Award!Through a series of far-fetched coincidences (you can read about them in the liner notes!) these three unique Pacific Northwest artists have met and released their first recording together, Island Dreams. True to Koto World style, it is uniquely inspired acoustic music, this time with hues of island sound brought to life by sanshin, guitar, koto, and ukulele. It combines musical traditions from Okinawa, Japan, Hawai'i and beyond with the individual approaches and creative arrangements of these talented multicultural musicians. Sung in English, Okinawan, and Japanese (and a little Hawaiian and Tahitian!) the music is as uplifting and nurturing as an ocean breeze. Works range from poignant Okinawan songs such as Tinsagu nu Hana (Balsam Flowers) and Warabi Gami (Blessings from Heaven) to Japanese traditional melodies such as Kojo no Tsuki (Moonlit Castle Reflections) and Tanabata ...

Vol. 3-I Megali Otoni CD music
$10.59 Three part harmonies and a family bond bring something unique and strange to the world of alternative music. Conceived in a basement in Minnesota, three siblings bonding through music created The Golden Vanity, now an alternative rock force in the Tampa Bay community. After discovering a guitar and music book in his basement, lead singer, Josh Scherer found himself drawn into the story of music. A Hungarian folk song, The Golden Vanity, brought life’s themes of sacrifice, love, death, courage, betrayal and sadness to the forefront of his mind. These themes remain the anchor of The Golden Vanity. Not surprisingly, this musically influenced family (both Scherer parents were music educators), formed together to create The Golden Vanity. Jeremiah “Schmokes” Scherer joined his brother and began to play the bass. However, after picking up Josh’s guitar and quickly learning to play along with alternative bands, Schmokes became the band’s guitarist. With Schmokes’ bass gathering dust in a corner, Leah Scherer wanted in on the family talent. Each member of The Golden Vanity brings to the forefront their own individual talent, style and personality. As captain of the Vanity, Josh leads with strong vocals and perfect harmony with his brother and sister. Schmokes’ preference of playing unique guitar riffs to standard chords is a direct result of his musical influences ...
