Capturing the classic power-pop band's 2005 reunion with its original line-up, this excellent 13-track set is as clean and crisp as the suits the band so often wore. All the hits are here--including "Tonight," "I Wanna Be With You," and "Go All the Way"--and the band sounds energized and delighted to be performing together, with lead singer Eric Carmen crooning in a respectably strong voice throughout. The Raspberries always had the perfect name for a power-pop band, as they were deliciously sweet, but had just enough of a tart attack to avoid sugar shock. And as this set so aptly proves, the Raspberries remain in season.
This DVD marks the triumphant return after 30 years of the Raspberries' original line-up of Eric Carmen, Wally Bryson, Dave Smalley, and Jim Bonfanti, recording at Los Angeles' House of Blues during their sold-out 2005 reunion tour. The 2CD/DVD set includes the entire 21 song concert on 2 CDs plus 5 song DVD. Included are all of the band's classic radio hits and more.
The Raspberries: Eric Carmen, Wally Bryson (guitar); Dave Smalley (bass guitar); Jim Bonfanti (drums).
Additional personnel: Paul Sidoti, Billy Sullivan, Jennifer Lee (background vocals).

O.K., So I'm a little biased, but I gotta tell ya....Power pop, minor chordish, musical hooklike riffs have never been done better!!!
I was to young to have seen the band in their heyday, but perhaps it's just as well....cause I don't know if they would have moved me to tears quite the way they did when I first cued this cd up. Way to go House of Blues!!!!! Quality from chord 1!
Eric, Wally, Jim, and Dave (don't forget the overdubs), have captured the Raspberries experience in a way that I would have thought impossible even just 10 years ago.
I am so thankful that you thought enough of your fans (both old, and for sure many new), to have produced this amazing memory of what rock & roll music truly should be.
Buy this recording people, and I defy you to go more than 2 days without cranking it full blast in the car!
Well done guys!

Raspberries Live On Sunset What a great live album! The band puts on a great performance, both in audio and video.
The all original band performs all it's original hits flawlessly, and adds a few tasty covers. The band also features top backing musicians, that only add to the top quality of the project.
If you're a Raspberrie fan, or just looking for some 70's music, with melodic lines, wailing guitar riffs, and thunderous drums, this will entertain, and hook you! Enjoy!

Sometimes you have to wait a LOOOOONNNGGG time... but it's all worth it. If you were there in the 70's this cd will take you back again. From the opening drum beat to the final riff there is never a moment that doesn't fit. Best if listened to in your ride and LOUD! The play list is top notch, the performance is right there all the way through and the added musicians, especially Jennifer Lee on vocals, only adds to the performance. The only question left is will there be a new studio album? Submitted by Jim (Pearl, MS) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
THE RASPBERRIES ARE STILL GREAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!! When I saw that this CD was coming out, I really didn't expect very much, I just wanted another addition to my Raspberries collection. But once I bought it and began playing it -- WOW!!! -- I didn't expect them to sound so good 30+ years later!!! This album blows me away!!! It is live, and it sounds good. It shows just how much talent they have always had, and then let their egos, differences, whatever, get in the way prior to this concert. Like so many other bands, the Raspberries could have had 15 or 20 albums by now, and I guarantee you that I would have had every one of them. Hey Raspberries, stay together -- you still have the magic!!! Please make a new studio album, then a new live album -- I don't care, because you still have several more years in you before "old age" catches up. Yes, your that good so don't waste the talent!!! BTW, the DVD is an added bonus, and also excellent!!! Submitted by Stephen Jenkins (Knoxville, TN USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
