This legendary horror film from John Carpenter stars Jamie Lee Curtis. Included is a brand new collectible O-card with '3D' foil accents and sculpted embossing. Extras include theatrical trailers, TV & radio spots, talent bios, still galleries, featurette: Halloween Unmasked 2000, and more. The film which ushered in the modern age of horror stands well above its many sequels and clones because John Carpenter's taut direction makes it truly scary. Jamie Lee Curtis, in her debut role, plays a babysitter who must protect herself from the deadly Michael Myers, a mental institution escapee who killed his sister on Halloween fifteen years earlier. Called "the most successful independent motion picture of all time," HALLOWEEN is also one of most frightening films ever made. Perhaps the most influential and successful independent film ever made, HALLOWEEN is the movie that put director John Carpenter on the map as a viable filmmaker. An exercise in simple, pure horror, HALLOWEEN takes us into the world of a mad killer, Michael Myers, who at a very young age stabbed his older sister to death. Locked away for many years in a mental hospital Michael escapes one night and returns to his hometown to continue his killing spree. Jamie Lee Curtis, in her first role, plays the resourceful babysitter who is chased by the killer on Halloween night. Produced for very little money and a tight shooting schedule, HALLOWEEN was a stunning success when it was released. Written by John Carpenter and his longtime producer Debra Hill, the film set their careers on fire, with both of them working together many times over the next 25 years. The film also made a star out of Jamie Lee Curtis and turned the slasher movie into a viable, successful genre. HALLOWEEN has been copied, parodied and even turned into a franchise of its own, but the original is still considered the best of the bunch. HALLOWEEN was John Carpenter's first foray into horror, and remains the standard to which all other modern horror films are measured. Theatrical release: October 25, 1978.
HALLOWEEN was the film debut for actress Jamie Lee Curtis, daughter of Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis.
HALLOWEEN includes a clip of the Howard Hawks-Christian Nyby classic, THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD. Years later, director John Carpenter would remake that film as THE THING.
Sam Loomis, the character played by Donald Pleasence, is also the name of Janet Leigh's boyfriend in PSYCHO.
The film was shot in spring, when the leaves were not in color, so fake leaves were used and, to accommodate the meager budget, reused.
The mask that Michael Myers wears is a William Shatner mask, only sprayed white to make it look more creepy.
The film's score is credited to "The Bowling Green Philharmonic," which was actually John Carpenter and a group of musician friends. Carpenter would go on to compose the music, usually keyboard-based, for most of his other films.
Halloween Quotes/Excerpts: "Was that the bogeyman?"--Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis), after Michael is shot off a balcony
"As a matter of fact...it was."--Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence)

Halloween Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Classic John Carpenter and Debra Hill created this film with such a low budget and the film went on to make 50 million. That just shows how much of an impact Halloween has had on the Horror Genre. Michael Myers is truly one of the greatest horror villans in history. In my oppinion he is the second greatest behind Freddy Kruger. This Halloween film is definately the best. No blood or gore, but that's not what this film was about. It was about the suspence. It leaves you on your nerves the whole way through. None of the Halloween sequals were ever able to top this. Jamie Lee Curtis did a fantastic job with this being her first feature film. The plot was so simple. It was about babysisters being stalked by evil on 2 legs. Thats what made the movie so great. Michael Myers is like a phantom type figure that cant be hurt and dispays no emotion. ONE WORD: CLASSIC John Carpenter and Debra Hill created a classic horror film which has become a global phenomenon. Carpenter directed a 1978 low-budget horror flick which opened the doors to all the new generation of horror flicks to come after it. A critic once wrote that he would compare Halloween to Psycho. That’s how good it is. It garners on suspense and atmospheric feeling rather than the typical violence mixed with blood and gore. It has an unbelievable aura, it features chilling music scores and unbelievably creepy scenes and visuals. Halloween is a great piece of film-making which proves you don't need a big budget to make a film scary as hell. Michael Myers is a phantom type killer who has no feelings or emotions and walks around stalking baby-sitters. The plot is so simple with very little meaning, yet the film is so effective and grabs your attention. Jamie Lee Curtis debuts with her first feature role and proves she is the ultimate scream queen and followed Janet Leigh’s (her Mothers) footsteps. Halloween will always be a dark and chilling film which will stand as one of the greatest and scariest horror films ever produced. In my opinion this is the 5th greatest horror film. My list goes, 1. Psycho (1960), 2. The Shining (1980), 3. The Exorcist (1973), 4. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), and 5. Halloween. Own this classic DVD and ignore the pointless remake. My all time favourite horror film Halloween is a masterpiece of the horror genre. Halloween is an example of what horror movies should be. All they are today are gore fests. I thought Halloween was goo because it didn't need gore to keep the story on track it relied on suspence and tension. Halloween is an absolute must see for any horror fan out there. Halloween review
$6.89 Twenty years after the original HALLOWEEN, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), now the headmistress of a Northern California private school under an assumed name, is still struggling with the terrifying memories of the psychotic killer Michael Myers. That horror becomes a reality once again when Michael returns, embarking on a murderous roadtrip from Illinois to California, killing three more people and stealing a victim's car before threatening the lives of Laurie's rebellious son (Josh Hartnett), his girlfriend (Michelle Williams), and the school security guard (LL Cool J). It's up to Laurie to conquer her internal demons and end Michael's evil. And a conveniently placed ax might just help her accomplish the task....

Halloween movie DVD
$10.29 You thought Michael Myers was decapitated at the end of HALLOWEEN: H20? Think again. The latest installment in the popular horror franchise, HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION, uses a clever premise to give the legendary murderer yet another opportunity to wreak havoc on a cast of innocent characters. Back in Haddonfield, Illinois, Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes), upstart entrepreneur of Dangertainment.com, recruits six lucky college students to partake in a potentially dangerous game. Wearing miniature video cameras, the participants must spend Halloween night inside the decrepit home of Michael Myers, to the delight of Internet viewers all over the country. While most of the kids are in it for fun, fame, and fortune, Sara Moyer (Bianca Kajlich) is a glaring exception. Innocent, shy, and nervous, Sara grudgingly joins her friends Jen (Katee Sackhoff) and Rudy (Sean Patrick Thomas), against her better judgment. As darkness sets in and the bodies begin to pile, it's up to Sara--aided by an Internet pen pal--to put an end to Michael once and for all (or so she thinks!). Director Rick Rosenthal (HALLOWEEN 2) and screenwriters Larry Brand and Sean Hood incorporate technology into the story, using a grainy visual approach to add another layer of creepiness to the proceedings.

Halloween film
$9.69 This fourth installment of the series takes place ten years after the original and finds the man in the William Shatner mask in a coma and being transferred from Richmond Mental Institute to Smith's Grove. However, the van gets into a horrible accident, skidding off the road and exploding. Predictably, Myers' body is nowhere to be found in the wreckage, alarming both the skeptical police and the indefatigable Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence). Soon, Myers is spotted back in Haddonfield, and it becomes obvious that his next target is his young niece, Jamie (Danielle Harris). His return has whipped the town into a frenzied mob, which proves to be unfortunate for the Halloween revelers who have chosen the popular "Michael Myers" mask as their costume. Often considered the best of the sequels, THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS is a return to form for the series after the debacle of HALLOWEEN 3.

| | King Kong: The Animated Series - Vol. 2 DVD (1966) Sony Music Distribution
Halloween review
$9.59 The 1933 film classic KING KONG formed the basis of a 1966 cartoon series that marked the first time Japanese animation was specifically created for American television. Produced by acclaimed animators Arthur Rankin, Jr., and Jules Bass (who pioneered stop-motion puppetry with their 1960s Christmas specials RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER and SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN), the cartoon fashioned a kindler, gentler version of the giant ape as he helped a scientist, Professor Bond, and his two children, Bobby and Susan, fight the world-domination plans of the evil Dr. Who on a remote tropical island. The series also featured a segment called TOM OF T.H.U.M.B. (Tiny Humans Underground Military Bureau), which chronicled the crime-fighting adventures of two four-inch-tall spies as they engaged in James Bond-style espionage. Fun and nostalgic, this second collection presents eight more half-hour episodes plus an extended-length pilot.

| | Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Complete Series DVDs (1987)
Halloween film
$355.85 Nearly two decades after the cancellation of the original STAR TREK television series, creator Gene Roddenberry launched the first of what was to be four phenomenally successful spinoffs with STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. Set in the 24th century (nearly 100 years after the stewardship of Captain Kirk), the series introduced an all-new cast of intergalactic travellers exploring the farthest reaches out of outer space on a mission to chart new planets and alien civilizations. Ship commander Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) anchored the crew of the Starship Enterprise-D with a sensitive reserve that marked a distinct contrast to his trigger-happy predecessor, whose role was assumed by the Kirk-like second-in-command, William Riker (Jonathan Frakes). Rounding out the cast were the Spock-like android Data (Brent Spiner); blind officer Geordi La Forge (LeVar Burton); Klingon officer Worf (Michael Dorn); ship doctor Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden); her teenage son, Wesley (Wil Wheaton); and psychic psychiatrist Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis). THE NEXT GENERATION was considered one of the best STAR TREK spinoffs for its intelligent writing and superb sci-fi special effects. This collection presents the series in its entirety.
