Jesse James, singer/songwriter from Moniteau County, Missouri, draws from the deep well of his musical experiences and pool of professional musician friends from Columbia MO and Memphis TN to release his first CD of original songs. Accompanied by his dobro playing musical partner Dobro Pat, his CD "The Seasons.. The Changes.." will give listeners a taste of the country as well as the city, and shows off his rock roots in several songs. An army brat with Native American roots, whose great-grandmother walked the Trail of Tears, Jesse has played drums for 30+ years in various bands and various genres. He and his musical partner Dobro Pat play primarily in the Columbia MO area and in Memphis TN, although they travel to other venues throughout the states, and can be found at the Woodyfest Folk Festival in Okema OK in July, 2007. The songs on this CD are great stories in song from the heart of this musician, who is proud to able to share his observations and thoughts on life to his listeners! $16.69 Return To Summer Lake is Steven's third recording. Special guest artists on the CD include Molly O'Brien, Nina Gerber, Debi Smith, SONiA of Disappear Fear, Pete & Maura Kennedy, Al Petteway & Bruce Molsky. Steven Bio:Billboard Magazine describes Steven Gellman's music as "intensely sensitive and impressively intelligent at the same time". As another reviewer aptly phrased it, Gellman's songs are "Kodak moments" from his life.He often performs in nursing homes and retirement communities, and even used a choir of senior citizens as backup on the track "Almeda at 90" from his album "Photobook". Dick Cerri, President of the World Folk Music Association says "Steve's natural ability on stage enables an audience to not only enjoy the songs and stories, but to participate ...
| | Patty Griffin 1000 Kisses CD (2002)
Seasons-The Changes songs
$7.99 1000 KISSES was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
Patty Griffin's success is either a testament to the eclecticism of the American music-buying public or to the success of the soundtrack to the movie OH BROTHER WHERE ART THOU? 1000 KISSES isn't a great departure for the Boston singer-songwriter--she's still singing the kind of perfectly formed mini-stories that inhabited her debut album, 1996's LIVING WITH GHOSTS. The main difference here is the assurance with which she presents her material--it's spare, sparsely orchestrated, mostly just acoustic guitar and bass, with the accent on her world-weary yet optimistic vocals and ...
| | Burl Ives Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer CD (1995)
Seasons-The Changes album
$4.99 The Rankin/Bass animagic film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first appeared on December 6, 1964. Since then, it has become the longest-running of all holiday TV specials (with, we hope, no end in sight). It's fitting that the grandfather of all Christmas specials features Burl Ives, still remembered warmly by millions as the voice behind the film's narrator, Sam the Snowman. Although this soundtrack bears his name, Ives appears only on a handful of songs: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "A Holly Jolly Christmas," and "Silver and Gold." The remaining vocals are handled by various cast members: "Jingle Jingle Jingle" features Stan Francis as Santa, "We're a Couple of Misfits" is sung by Billie Mae Richards (the voice of Rudolph) and ...
| | Be Good Tanyas Chinatown CD (2003)
Seasons-The Changes CD music
$11.65 The homespun, slightly quirky approach that guided the Be Good Tanyas on Blue Horse permeates their enigmatically titled sophomore release too. If anything, these performances beckon the listener even more into the material, as a fiery hearth might draw strangers together on a cold night. The singing is raggedy and breathy, the instruments gently strummed or stroked; like whispered intimacies, these elements cast a conversational spell. ...

| | Buccaneers Basement Monkey CD (2006)
Seasons-The Changes album
$15.19 Brace yourself for the landing of THE BUCCANEERS – the hardiest, most harmonious band of pirates ever to hoist their flag on Calgary’s shores! All right, before you scramble for your atlas and history books, you’re correct – Calgary has no sea access, and Alberta isn’t exactly the breeding ground for the world’s most notorious pirates. But THE BUCCANEERS aren’t letting those trifling facts halt their pursuit of nautical and melodious distinction. Their “disarming chemistry”, strong vocal harmonies, contemporary arrangements and passionate, high energy performances are captivating audiences from sea to shining sea, as THE BUCCANEERS win Canada over with their unique brand of Aggressive Canadian Folk Music. Now, let’s face it: Calgary is not the first place that springs to mind when you mention sea shanties. That’s likely why these gents had to travel to the streets of Winnipeg to discover their true nautical souls and form THE BUCCANEERS in 1997. Originally a six-man busking group, the band quickly became a local favourite and set off as a full-time touring band, stretching their fan base to all our country’s shores. The band now consists of three of its founding members: Rodger Leeder (vocals, mandolin, bass guitar, guitar), Seán Sabraw (vocals, guitar, bass guitar, bodhran, mandolin), and Jim Samuelson (vocals, saxophone, penny whistles, tambourine, bones). Now back in Calgary, they have established a strong hometown crowd, developed a school show that has reached students at over 150 schools across Canada, recorded and released their second album, ...
