| | Giorgio Moroder Vs Danny Tenaglia From Here To Eternity CD (1977) (Import) Germany
Yudachi Story CD music
$13.15 One of the predecessors of modern dance music, the entirely electronically produced 1977 album FROM HERE TO ETERNITY includes "Lost Angeles" and "Too Hot To Handle."
From Here to Eternity is Moroder's quasi-instrumental masterpiece, a continuous mix of banging Eurodisco complete with vocoder effects and this statement on the back cover: "Only electronic keyboards were used on this recording." The metallic beats, high-energy impact, and futuristic effects prove that Moroder was ahead of his ...

| | Very Best Of MTV Unplugged CD (2002)
Yudachi Story songs
$13.95 This is a best-of compilation from MTV's famous acoustic series, including R.E.M, Sheryl Crow, and Lenny Kravitz.
As one of the most highly acclaimed series in the history of MTV, Unplugged afforded the opportunity for some of commercial music's most praised entertainers (as well as those musicians with a bit more artistic merit) to spotlight their hit songs in a different context. The show was met with surprisingly high acclaim and viewership, and everyone and their brother signed up for an "acoustic" session. Very Best of MTV Unplugged compiles some of the series most lauded moments, most notably Eric Clapton's smash performance of "Tears in Heaven." However, this is by no means a complete document of the sheer depth of talent that the show has provided over the years, nor is it indicative of the diversity that has been showcased. Aside from R.E.M., many notable performances from the show's early years (which featured, among others, the Cure and 10,000 Maniacs with their memorable rendition of "Because the Night") are conspicuously absent from the disc, as well as performances from the landmark Unplugged hip-hop sessions. Those issues aside, memorable performances do abound here, from some of the most important names in the history of pop music. ~ Rob Theakston
Out of print in the U.S.! In the '90s, MTV's Unplugged was the hippest music show on television. Even though the acoustic-based live performance show was actually on the air for a few years before it took off (it was originally hosted by Jules Shear), it became THE show for artists to prove their musical worth while also becoming ...

| | James Gang Yer' Album CD (1969) (Import) United Kingdom
Yudachi Story music CDs
$17.79 Digitally remastered by Bill Szymczyk and Ted Jensen (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
The James Gang's debut LP, Yer' Album, was very much a first record and very much a record of its time. The heavy rock scene of the period was given to extensive jamming, and four tracks ran more than six minutes each. The group had written some material, but they were still something of a cover band, and the disc included their extended workouts on Buffalo Springfield's "Bluebird" and the Yardbirds' "Lost Woman," the latter a nine-minute version complete with lengthy guitar, bass, and drum solos. But in addition to the blues rock there were also touches of pop and progressive rock, mostly from Walsh who displayed a nascent sense of melody, not to mention some of the taste for being a cutup that he would display in his solo career. Walsh's "Take a Look Around" must have made an impression on Pete Townshend during the period before the album's release when the James Gang was opening for the Who since Townshend borrowed it for the music he was writing for the abortive Lifehouse follow-up to Tommy. If "Wrapcity (i.e., Rhapsody) in English," a minute-long piano and strings interlude, seems incongruous in retrospect, recall that this was an eclectic era. But the otherwise promising "Fred," which followed, broke down into a pedestrian jazz routine, suggesting that the band was trying to cram too many influences onto one record and sometimes into one song. Nevertheless, they were talented improvisers, as the open-ended album closer, Jerry Ragavoy and Mort Shuman's "Stop," made clear. After ten minutes, Szymczyk faded the track out, but Walsh was still going strong. Yer' Album contained much to suggest that the James Gang, in particular its guitarist, had a great future, even if it was more an album of performances than compositions. ~ William Ruhlmann
Includes liner notes by Joe Walsh and Jim Fox.
