This is my CD “Great Wall of Sound” – it took me about 2.5 years to compile this into what it is now (many re-editions and changes) – from the original CD, only 3 compositions remain. My music is a mix of Radiohead – Pink Floyd – and Bach. I am a one man orchestra with a guitar, computer, and a dream to make the music that I love. This CD is that combined effort in making music that I like – that I feel connected to – I have no backing from a distributing company – and therefore no one controls what I do (true artistic freedom). GunveMY BIOBorn and raised in Sweden I was lured into playing guitar as a teenager, by Angus Young. My introduction to rock / metal music was learning the AC/DC catalogue at the age of fourteen and knowing then that music was my only following. Strangely enough I was fascinated by Jean Michel Jarre at an early age - and was blown away when I saw "Live In Huston". My passion for Heavy Metal and Electronic music found itself fusing into a common language. My experiments in electronic music, encapsulate, my vision for the artist working in this field. I am always seeking self- contained sound units that stand on their own, to collage them into my electronic compositions an early influence from my love for Metal where a raw and heavy sound is combined with melodic structure and harmony.Musically I am inspired by a variety of artist – but some in particularly include – Jean Michelle Jarre, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Steve Vai, Bach (yes), AC/DC, Iron Maiden (I said I was diverse), Philip Glass…and more. Each track on this CD has a story – and each one is its own character. My idea was to create an artist impact of each track. I will explain a little of each track below.1.) Water Monster – Written in 2004 – this track is inspired by a trip my brother took (from Sweden) to here. He is an artist and had come to the US to study H.P. Lovecraft’s work – and base some of his work from this. I went along with him to Providence, RI and found myself equally inspired by the journey. I began to think of sound elements and sound design ideas suiting to some of his work. I wanted to create something that was organic, natural, and slightly supernatural. I therefore used samples of water – but drew voices and musical elements out of this – therefore creating a soundscape suited for H.P. Lovecrafts ideas.2.) Great Wall of Sound – this piece was written in Sweden in the summer of 2005. It was based on a short melodic line written on the guitar and developed from there. In this you can hear my blues and heavy rock influences – as I feel that to fusion of that and electronic music works really well together. 3.) Amat Eto Keri - Written in January of 2007 – and was conceptualized by combining funky guitars with Bengali music. 4.) 24 Hours of Magic – Written in January 2007 – Is written in 2 parts – and the idea was to combine 2 different feels and moods. One is more funky, driven by guitars and percussive beats and electronic elements. The other section is drawn out and ambient. ...
