James Bond follows diamond smugglers to Las Vegas, where a Howard Hughes-like millionaire appears to be using them in a deadly space weapon. Academy Award Nominations: Best Sound. Superspy James Bond (Sean Connery) gets tangled up in the wild world of international diamond smuggling. But hold on--the mission is not quite so simple as it seems; his chase of the jewel thieves leads him to conspirators with plans for unleashing a nuclear armageddon on an unsuspecting planet. The majority of the action takes place on the gaudy, glittering streets of Las Vegas, as Bond negotiates the grotesque terrain with his customary aplomb and fancy mechanical gadgets. As always, he manages to dally with several sexy bombshells along the way, including the wonderful Lana Wood as Plenty O'Toole. Connery is as suave and entertaining as ever, taking on the menacing Charles Gray, who is trying his hand at playing Bond's archenemy, Blofeld. Look for the car chase down a narrow alley. Shot in Technicolor.

Sean Connery is the only James Bond and this is one of his best performances. Nothing will equal Jill St. John purring, "But I'm cooperating. Really I am."

Connery comes back with a rug/wig after a long 4 year lay off. Entertaining,,not as good as the old Bond films from the sixites but not a waste..

"Who is your floor?"
Sena Connery returns to the role of James Bond 007 after a 4-year and one film absence. Bond goes to Amsterdam and Las Vegas on the trail of Diamond thieves. He learns that that Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the head of SPECTRE, is behind the operation and that he plans to use the stones in a laser satellite superweapon. Definatley a must-see.

Get the box set so you can get the bonus features. Oh yes! There are alternate scenes, deleted sceens and some outakes here and there in the features. Jill St John and Lana Wood (today) talk about the making of Diamonds are Forever with Sean. Director Guy Hamilton speaks about the movie and more.
There are some redundant film clips but you can ignore these and go to the good stuff.
I had to buy this and I am Very Happy I did.
