Seasons in the Abyss album for sale Product Description
Seasons in the Abyss album for sale by Slayer was released Jul 24, 2007 on the American label. Slayer built a rabid following with faster-than-light thrash metal, eerie, disturbing lyrics, and bassist/singer Tom Araya's screamed vocals.1986's REIGN IN BLOOD, a blinding metal classic that clocked in at below a half hour in length and was produced by Rick Rubin, put the band on the metal map. Although Slayer was a bunch of longhairs, it wasn't uncommon to see hardcore skinheads slamming away at the band's shows. But 1988's SOUTH OF HEAVEN alienated many of Slayer's punk fans, as the group slowed their speed metal to a Black Sabbath-like crawl.1990's SEASONS IN THE ABYSS follows its predecessor's formula. The album was embraced by metal-heads everywhere, eventually earning Slayer its first gold-certified record. ...See Full Description

Excellent! This is possibly Slayer's finest hour. Not counting Reign In Blood. Slayer returns to form with the speedy opener War Ensamble and manages to keep it's slower melodic side as well with the wonderful closing track Seasons In The Abyss. Every song in between is either the classic Thrash Metal that we all know and love or the Melodic Metal that served them well for South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss. Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman lay down more mature guitar solos but still manage to keep them speedy and fun. Dave Lombardo blasts out some of the best Thrash drumming ever, while Tom Araya's vocals are the classic screams but still manages to keep them very melodic. My favorite tracks are; War Ensamble, Blood Red, Spirit In Black, Dead Skin Mask, Hallowed Point, Skeletons Of Society, and Seasons In The Abyss. That's almost the entire album! Overall a great buy and reccomend this to anyone. By JamesG815 (Somers, NY, USA)
Definative Slayer; Authentic Metal If you want some music that will deepen your soul, here it is. The themes are presented for consideration only, there's no pressure to lead or follow here. Take the well crafted motifs for what they are, pertinent to the current day and potent in message. Also some of the heaviest metal music is presented with precisly aunuciated lyrics that have a solid theme and speak a clear message. This record is a gem. By markgrafstrom1 (Salol, mn, usa)

great album reign in blood is way better but this still puts this ahead of megadeth and anthrax By avenged7x799 (Wappingers,NY,USA)
Talk of the town THis is an album I dont mind buying on CD, though I own it on cassette. When this album came out it was Reign in blood madness all over again. Every one had a copy and every one who played an instrument (which most Metalheads do or did when I was growing up) was trying to learn this album. Slayer tried Melody on South of Heaven even a differant vocal sounds. On this album they perfected it. By joe.costantini74 (fairfax) This review is for a different format.
