War Of Ages Fire From The Tomb Songs Fire From The Tomb Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Reviews by Uprise Zine If you're searching for that next brutal album that will send your metal soul into utter bliss, look no further. War Of Ages is an unrelenting, finger tapping, drum pounding, highly convicting metal band that leaves even the darkest of listeners in shock. After debuting under Strike First Records, they proved themselves worthy enough to have their second release put out by the father-label of Strike First, Facedown Records. "Pride Of The Wicked" brought out their capabilities into the lime-light, this was their breakout release for sure. With their energy filled grooves, harsh and commanding screams, the music is like a soudtrack to demon slaying! Their newest album "Fire From The Tomb" takes listeners back to their debut but with a whole new feel. War Of Ages went into the studio, revamped and re-recorded their self-titled, Strike Frist album for your pleasure. The songs have been improved so much and with the new recording, it's pretty much like a "new" album, though it's actually a re-release. However you want to look at it, the album has a new sound, new vibe, new name, and new artwork. If you're a War Of Ages fan or are in need of a good metal album to kick off your back-to-school, go buy this album! Submitted by www.uprisezine.com (Music City, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Fire From The Tomb album
$9.95 Christian metalcore act War of Ages make their full-length debut (following a self-released 2003 EP) with this self-titled album. The most interesting thing about War of Ages is singer Leroy Hamp's relentlessly positive-themed lyrics, which he delivers with the same level of sore-throat fury as the average dark-themed metalcore singer. Unfortunately, "average" is in every other way a fair description of this album. Although War of Ages' sound will be instantly familiar to the metalcore listener -- the usual two-guitar lineup playing unison riffs, the ...

Fire From The Tomb CD music
$10.75 Concept albums are a rarity among metalcore bands, but Iconoclast is, in fact, a rare example of a metalcore-friendly concept album. And Maik Weichert, one of Heaven Shall Burn's two guitarists, described the concept this way: "Iconoclasts are warriors who are sent to judge and destroy the murderers of God. With God dead, the only thing that's left is to take revenge for His murder." But even if one doesn't get into the album's lofty, abstract concept, Iconoclast is still one of the more noteworthy metalcore-minded releases of early 2008. This 58-minute CD is not designed for metalcore purists; rather, these German agitators combine metalcore with a strong death metal influence and, at times, hints of black metal. But metalcore ...

Fire From The Tomb CD music
$13.15 It was the year 1999 (as you can deduce from the name club99) when Robert, Patrick and Chris, three young friends from the roundabouts of Bolzano (I), decided to play ska music and began forming what was to become the very first ska band in the history of their own home country South Tyrol, (Italy).Today the band counts 8 musicians: Lead vocal, guitar, bass, drum, trumpet, alto-sax, tenor-sax and keyboard). In december 1999 the band performed the first live show, and it was a big success. Thanks to the songs, which invite everyone to dance and the vibrant, energetic live show, Club99 became a well known name in the music-scene of South Tyrol. In the following years Club99 succeeded in exporting their music out of the own homecountry, many concerts in Italy and in foreign countries followed. During the last 5 years Club99 plays about 150 concerts in Italy, ...

Fire From The Tomb album
$12.39 The Modern Jazz Quartet With Laurindo Almeida: Milt Jackson (vibraharp); John Lewis (piano); Laurindo Almeida (guitar); Percy Heath (bass); Connie Kay (drums).
Digitally remastered by Gene Paul & Jennifer Munson (DB Plus Digital Services, New York, New York).
When Atlantic gets around to reissuing their many Modern Jazz Quartet records on CD, this should be one of the first to come back. The MJQ (vibraphonist Milt Jackson, pianist John Lewis, bassist Percy Heath and drummer Connie Kay) were joined for this 1964 session by the great acoustic guitarist Laurindo Almeida and the music is very memorable. Their version of "One Note Samba" (which starts out with Almeida playing unaccompanied) is a classic, the guitarist fits into the four John Lewis compositions quite comfortably, and "Concierto De Aranjuez" is given lengthy and inventive treatment. ~ Scott Yanow
