Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles Based on the best-seller by Richard Bach (who sued the production for not following his book) about Jonathan, an existential seagull in search of the meaning of life. Score by Neil Diamond (who sued the production for replacing some of his music). Director Ovady Julber claimed the film plagiarized his film "La Mer." A troubled production that fell flat. Spectacular Most Neil Diamond Fans are not aware of this CD and Film. I cried through the whole film and each time I listen to the CD I can picture the seagull in flight trying to become his own person. I can only say that everyone who is having a rough day should see this film and listen to the music often. Submitted by mlbaier (Williamsport, PA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Excellent movie...Disappointed with DVD Here's a movie that is filled with music, music that's a big part of the whole production and what do we get for sound on this DVD release? "Dolby Digital Mono!" MONO! It's very disappointing that a movie like this that's previously been unavailable on DVD is getting such shoddy treatment. It deserved better!
4 stars for the movie, 0 for the sound. Submitted by fare9295 (Coastal Massachusetts) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Uplifting... A Movie that Soars... This is not your average movie. It's a richly rewarding spiritual journey. One that will alter your consciousness. Meditate. Contemplate. Just lose yourself in this surreal masterpiece. Despite the politics that plagued the production, I applaud Hall Bartlett's vision. A wonderful, truly inspired film. Alternatively, check out Richard Bach's original novel (upon which this movie is based) accompanied by Neil Diamond's original movie soundtrack. Simply Heaven. Jonathan Livingston Seagull film
$7.29 Neil Diamond puts himself into the shoes of a character, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, writing and singing music compelling and rich in texture and melody, to fit the portrait perfectly in a movie under the same name. Recorded in 1973 for CBS under the pop/rock style genre, Diamond had much help in order to make this into reality. Commend Tom Catalano for the musical direction and Lee Holdridge for the splendid and compelling orchestra and string arrangements. Though Diamond only sings on a few tracks, he does it so with the grace and smooth ...

$9.89 21st century New York City is (still) an overpopulated mess, and the only food left is Soylent Green, a soybean and lentil concoction with an extra-special, government-mandated ingredient. As police detective Thorn (Charlton Heston) investigates a murder, he learns of a conspiracy with bizarre implications. This Edward G. Robinson's final movie, as the star died not long after filming his final scene. Based on Harry Harrison's "Make Room! Make Room!"
This is the year 2022. Overcrowding, pollution, and resource depletion ...

| | Edward II/All Over Me/Twelfth Night DVDs (1991)
Jonathan Livingston Seagull movie DVD
$11.35 EDWARD II: Director Derek Jarman revisits Christopher Marlowe's play of bloodletting and royal intrigue, bringing the homosexual theme to the forefront. Steven Waddington stars as Prince Edward II, who upsets England's noblemen by sharing his throne with his commoner lover, Gaveston (Andrew Tiernan). Tilda Swinton costars as Edward's scorned wife, Queen Isabella, whose seething jealousy and hatred lead her into the arms of Mortimer (Nigel Terry), a power-hungry nobleman who seeks to topple Edward's reign. Jarman focuses on the passionate romance between Edward and Gaveston in this tragic tale of desire and persecution. Jarman's sparsely designed film combines period and modern costumes to evoke a timeless quality--Isabella is dressed like a 20th-century upper-crust socialite, while Edward and Gaveston wear simple period attire. A series of mazelike stone corridors and open rooms theatrically convey the castle where the royals fight for the throne. Jarman cuts between the Edwardian castle and more modern images of gay-rights marches, creating a subversive commentary on the ever-present struggle for acceptance and equality. The film also features vocalist Annie Lennox singing Cole Porter's "Every Time We Say Goodbye."
ALL OVER ME is an intense, naturalistic portrait of a changing friendship between two teenage girls, set in New York's gritty Hell's Kitchen. The symbiotic, loving relationship between riot-grrrl teens Ellen and Claude degrades after Ellen begins dating a rough-hewn, mean-spirited older boy, and Claude tries on a lesbian identity with the help of a new gay male friend. The movie is suffused with alternative music-scene bit parts and cameos, including Leisha Hailey (of ...
