Who Are The Jimi Vincent Band.Formed in 1989, The Jimi Vincent Band plays rockin' blues. They rattle the rafters and treat their listeners to an explosive musical experience. One can certainly feel the energy the band generates as they take the listener on a musical journey through the world of blues.The Jimi Vincent Band is currently playing blues festivals and clubs across this great land and converting new listeners to their brand of the blues. Most recently they opened a show for headliners Bonnie Raitt, Keb Mo and John Lee Hooker Jr. Jimi has also opened for the great Robert Lockwood Jr., Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, Travis Tritt, Emmylou Harris, and many others.The band performed at the Heritage Music Festival in Wheeling, West Virginia, a three day blues event featuring many of the major blues bands in the country. The venue is on the banks of the Ohio River and was a beautiful setting to hear bands from all over the country. The Jimi Vincent Band performed three sets and was asked to be the host band for the after hours jam session held at a local club for all Heritage Festival performers. The audience went wild as The Anthony Gomes Band joined Jimi onstage for a truly memorable set . A number of other musicians took the stage as the blues burned well into the night.The band has just released its newest CD, "Been There, Done That... Won't Do That Again. Another year, another Gary Moore blues-rock album nearly interchangeable with the last. That's no problem for fans or even newcomers, because despite the surface similarities between releases, Moore never seems to be going through the motions for the sake of further bulking up his already substantial catalog. His tough guitar lines remain biting yet classy, and his underappreciated voice is strong and convincing on originals and covers that nail all of the blues-rock bases without sounding rote. While there are no surprises here, Bad for You Baby is far from a disappointment. Moore continues a string of rugged, post-hard rock, power blues that he has carved his niche in since 1990's Still Got the Blues. Since even Howlin' Wolf's worst recordings are compelling in some regard, it should go without saying that HIS BEST, a collection of his finest Chess sides, is magnificent from beginning to end. Possessed of fine guitar and harp skills, a voice that could separate skin from bone, and a sheer magnetism and charisma that knew (and has known) no equal, Howlin Wolf is one of 20th century music's greatest performers.

"Alone on the Shore" opens the third album by Keith, the one name handle for James Barry Keefer. The shimmering pop that was created by Bobby Hebb producer Jerry Ross and arranger Joe Renzetti on the first two Mercury discs is replaced by original compositions and the arrangement of the meticulous Larry Fallon. Fallon is credited for arranging The Looking Glass hit "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl," however, he is the actual producer on that disc. He is one of the industry's underrated talents, and he allows Keith's band of David Jiminez (guitar), Joe Coyle (ryhthm guitar), Dave Fiebert (bass), and Rick Fox (drums) to experiment in ways that are admirable. This LP plays more like latter day Donovan, another one-name pop maestro. "Alone on the Shore" and "Trixon's Election" are heady pop tunes, maybe too deep for Top 40 at the time. Even Buffalo Springfield knew enough to temper their politics with radio friendly music. The sounds here are an intriguing mixture of '60s garage rock with British pop, flavors of The Beatles, The Small Faces, Kaleidoscope UK, and other psychedelic rockers. The production by Ted Daryll allows this group to stretch out. "Waiting to Be" is five minutes and thirty eight seconds of psychedelic jam. Keith wrote only one song on his second album, none on his first, so RCA Records showed some kind of faith in the artist allowing him to compose/co-write all ten titles on The Adventures of Keith. These are adventurous tunes, and worth listening to. It's a natural progression from the second album's Jimmy "Wiz" Wisner's (yes, the one and the same from Tommy James & the Shondells sessions), arrangement of the Spanky & Our Gang hit "Making Every Minute ...
