| | Vortice F6 CD Vortice Discography of CDs
Vortice begins in 2001, after Rafael Chavarria and Harry Boschini leave their previous band. Together with long time friend Alfonso Perez, they start exchanging ideas. In 2002, they are joined by vocalist Edoardo Alfaro and eventually Calos Abarca replaces Jocniam Castillo as bass player. They began recording and released their first album in 2004.The cd features 12 tracks filled with energy and emotion. The music is a mix of contemporary metal with thrash and heavy metal. The lyrics are based on personal experiences from the band's members. It was recorded, produced and mixed by the band in their own studio. The album is called 'F6', a title that is based on the scale used to measure tornadoes, which is directly related to the band's own name (spanish for 'Vortex'). $11.99 With most contemporary country artists, you could guarantee that a song called "American Ride" would be a slice of jingoism, but Toby Keith isn't like most country singers. His "American Ride" casts a cynical eye at desperate housewives and wannabe pop stars, not celebrating down-home values but wondering where we're all headed on this American Ride at the end of the 2000s, a sentiment not all that far removed from some of Keith's previous social commentary, which makes it a mild surprise that it is the only song here that doesn't come from his own pen. As superb and striking as it is, it's not necessarily a good keystone for the rest of the record, which does have a few tougher numbers that pick up on the lean, mean vibe of 2008's THAT DON'T MAKE ME A BAD GUY -- "Every Dog Has Its Day," the sly "If I Had One," and the heavy blues stomp "Loaded" -- but spends ...

$9.35 Congratulations! 2007 Chicago Music Award Winner for 2007 Best New Entertainer! Elder Stephen Evans and Minister David Range are the eldest and youngest children of the Rev. Genevieve Brown of Joliet, IL. Together they form the gospel duo known as EKKLESIA (ee-clay-see-ah), a Greek word which means Called Out. They have recently released their debut CD entitled “Whatcha’ Waitin’ 4?” Elder Stephen Evans is a licensed and ordained minister under the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship. Over the years, his singing career has allowed him the experience of performing with many different groups, both secular and Christian. Elder Evans’ voice has been compared to such music giants as Isaac Hayes and Barry White. However, his love for gospel music has long since removed him from the world of secular music. Gospel music to him is not just music—it is ministry. It speaks to people’s souls and encourages, heals and strengthens them. He loves the Lord, and has ...
| | Constricted Wide Awake & Breathing CD (2007)

$16.45 The bass player was in a band that the singer went to see regularly. The guitar players were in two other bands that played with the bass players band. The drummer was in yet another band. The one guitar players band imploded and he vowed to tour the country with an acoustic guitar and f*&k the whole band thing. The bass player left his band to start another band with the singer. They saw the one guitar player at a bar one night and asked if he would try out. He did. It worked. The other members of the band now known as Constricted wanted a second guitar player, but the first guitar player was a nasty old b*tch and said, "NO!" The bass player and the singer started a cover band with the other guitar player and the first guitar player started a long standing joke that p*sses the bass player off. The joke is, "when you guys kicked me out of the band that time..." Finally, the nasty old guitar player woke up and said, "Hey, what's that other guitar player doing?" That's how Constricted really got started. The rest of the story goes like this: We have been recording a full length piece of media for some time. The first bad problem was a recording (after 3 months in the studio) where the tracks were completely out of phase. F*&k Pro-tools sheds and f*&k people who don't know how to use Pro-tools. The next problem was finding another engineer. The next problem was alternately getting put on the back burner and rushed through sessions by the engineer we chose because there was a "Big Name" recording at his studio (the studio is owned by 3 partners). F*&k "Big Name". The next problem was the chosen engineer suddenly disappeared right about when he should have been doing a final mix. The next problem was, after finding a mixing engineer, the "mastering...light" program that he used actually made the whole thing sound worse. This was really weird, ...
