A fine tribute album to the late Buck Owens, the Derailers' UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF BUCK showcases the singer and guitarist's roots in the hardcore honky tonk of his native Bakersfield, California, instead of his later persona as the genial host of the TV variety show HEE HAW. The performances are strictly traditional, so much like Owens' originals that it's startling not to hear his voice. Highlights include "Foolin' Around," "I've Got A Tiger By the Tail," and the psychedelic pastiche "Who's Gonna Mow Your Grass."

Under The Influence Of Buck album
$14.65 Lyrics translated from the Spanish by Guillermo Hernandaz, Yolanda Zepeda and Jaime Nicolopulos.
Following on from his father Santiago Jimenez' own successful run as a conjunto musician in San Antonio, Flaco Jimenez put together a conjunto of his own in the '50s, eventually becoming one of the most famous figures in Tex-Mex music (also known as Musica Nortena in Mexico). Based on the polkas and waltzes Mexican performers refashioned as rancheras, the Tex-Mex conjunto style features accordion, the 12-string bajo sexto guitar, bass, and drums. Flaco immediately staked his claim in the music with a distinctly imaginative and lively accordion ...

Under The Influence Of Buck CD music
$15.19 LaVoz MagazineOk, so here at LaVoz we normally like to review the classics because in many ways, those old school rhythms were the swinging ones that embodied that true meaning of what we call 'salsa' music. Not this time folks! New York city's newest and most explosive band called "La Excelencia" is making sure people know their name. Their new album "Salsa Con Conciencia" is a testament to the original flavor from the 70's with a millenium generation twist. This album hits hard and just about every Dj in the salsa scene is starting to realize this. The first track, "La Lucha" is a nice tempo tune with a strong trombone line and great breaks that will make you happy you decided to dance ...
