$15.15 This artist was introduced to music at an early age; as a toddler he would watch and listen to his grandmother Eva Hunt and his mother Lillian Sohl play the piano. His father George Sohl and brother George Sohl Jr. loved country music and had it playing on the radio quite often. He was influenced by this and came to love country music at an early age. His mother enrolled him in the American Conservatory Of Music at the age of eight to study keyboard and then for private lessons from Anthony Bartolatta a superb accordionist. He won a talent contest in his home town at the age of twelve playing instrumentals on an accordion. At the age of fifteen he gave up the accordion for the guitar and would sing songs and play the guitar at family gatherings. He bought his first guitar from Fran Duppee's Guitar Studio in North Adams Massachussetts, where You could find on occasion Hank, along with Russell Bennett, Buzz Evans, and others, as that seemed to be a good place to hang out. Fran was a really loveable and kind person. A few years later he joined a local band and played around western Massachusetts. Later on most of New England. He worked in different groups with New England talent such as Bobby Sweet Sr, Ronald Zink, Cappy Paxton, Rusty Brooks, Paul McCoy, Tom Geyherty, Skip Joyner, Gordon Hutchinson, Bill Hankey, Russell Bennett and many more. Took part in television and radio shows which included some of country music's and Nashville's finest. He toured the New England area extensively and the Boston and east coast area with Legendary Russell Bennett. He toured Florida and the Florida Keys with Chuck Sherman, Steel Guitarist and later some dates in Florida with Russell Bennett. While touring Florida he was offered to tour the country with an act out of Nashville, to end with an appearance on the Grand Ole Opry, but continuing problems from a fractured lower spine limited his abilities and he declined. He made his first studio recording at the age of twenty, in Harrison, New Jersey and first appearance on stage with a known recording ...
