These albums zero in on easy listening versions of standards from the songbooks of Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen, Henry Mancini, Johnny Mercer, Edward Heyman and Victor Young. Not an essential purchase for casual listeners, but fans who have been waiting for these LPs to make the switch to CD will appreciate it. ~ Al Campbell

Her rich, husky voice made her one of the most popular vocalists of the '50s and '60s and she is still a favorite today. She won her first Grammy Award in early 2000! Sings You Go to My Head & Songs from Manhattan Tower buy CD music 2007 release of 26 digitally remastered tracks by the exceptional song stylist who sang with a clear, firm voice and an ability to sing in several languages, which made her an international celebrity and a million selling recording star. Although she was born in Boston and had enrolled at the Julliard School of Music in New York, it was in Paris where her career took off. In 1946, she came to the attention of French singer and band leader Bernard Hilda, who offered her a contract to sing at his nightclub in Paris. She became a popular attraction in the French capital and during the next few years her reputation was established throughout Europe. When she returned to New York, she headlined at the Mocambo Club, billed as “The Girl From Paris”. Morgan became the first female vocalist to sign with the newly founded Kapp Records. Later in life, she married film producer Jerry Weintraub.

As the title track, a cover of Tammy Wynette's smash, indicates, Page was flirting with country music during this period; covers of Skeeter Davis's "The End of the World" and the Elvis standard "Can't Help Falling In Love" also appear.
