Jesus was the most popular (posthumously at least) underdog in history, so it comes as no surprise that CCM band 12 Stones would devote their third album to that aspect of His divinity. What does surprise, however, is the almost prog-rock complexity that such a simple sentiment inspires. With interesting guitar leads that explore all the possibilities of the bottom strings, and almost symphonic codas and bridges, the title track leaps out and sets the stage for the monster riffs and sophisticated ideas to follow. The other stand-out track is the power ballad "Lie to Me," which highlights Paul McCoy's gritty, Eddie Vedder-esque vocals.

This album rocks!! I am a fan of 12 stones. However, I would normally give them a 3 star rating on their last 2 albums. This one however, the got right all through. I have no choice but to give it 5 stars. I cannot stop listening to it. Title track rocks. Lie to Me, Broken Road, This Dark Day. You gotta buy it if you love rock music period. If you love Jesus you'll get even more out of it, but even if you don't, this album has lots for you. Submitted by kensilk (port huron, MI, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
excellent third studio album the band keeps their sound maturing with each album. this isn't as much rock as the previous two. they come out with a little softer sound on this album and like with linkin park's new one, it sounds great!!! these guys have produced another great album!! The Best Rock Single of 2007 12 Stones Really Rock, their greatest single ever is "Lie to me" is the best rock single released in 2007 after "Never Too late" Love the Rythm. Submitted by Malafa Mbella (Yaounde,Cameroon(Africa)) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Aptly titled indeed Potter's Field was indeed a failure to me. There were some shining moments on it but it fails to convey somehow. Big improvement on this shortage in a big way. This shows that Paul McCoy needs some improvement in his songwriting after the overshadowing of 'Bring Me to Life' became a huge overnight sensation, circa 2002, courtesy of collabing with Amy of Evanescence. 'Lie to Me' was sure to be a hit and it did hit the mark. Good outing and hope it does evolve good tidings from here. Submitted by Hmmm-mmm (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$11.39 DA'SOUL RECORDINGS PRESENTS... The Urban Jazz Masters Series SURRENDER... Featuring the smooth as silk, vocal talents of Da' Soul Recordings artist Chazz Dixon. Chazz and multi - instrumentalist "J" have created a timeless masterpiece of mature Smooth Jazz grooves to soothe the soul. Billed as the "The Baddest Indie Joint Smokin' " & Home Of "The Mature Groove...", this project is the first of a series to be followed by "Murphy Edwards", "Myron Jewell" & Gary Brown CD's with the common denominator, being first class production by Da'Soul CEO and lead producer "J" .INTERVIEW Orenthial Jackson IV (OJ): Chazz, what was the inspiration behind this project?(CZ): A woman… next question. ( Laughter breaks out as Chazz and J exchange mischievous smiles at my expense.) (OJ): Come on fellas, give me more than that, there's got to be more to it. ("J") Listen man, Chazz was straight to the point… It's about a woman… a Midwestern girl… A windy city woman, it always is for him. (More laughter) ("J") Look, this brother has written about the same woman on just about every song we've done together. In all seriousness, the inspiration for this project as well as many of our previous projects revolve around the true to life issues facing anyone in love. (CZ) Yeah, like I said, a woman… next question. Oh and by the way, ladies and gentlemen of the Grammy association… Thank you for this award… and Windy City lady, I thank you too!! (Laughter is getting a little out of control in here.) (OJ) Ok, so we know the inspiration. Why these songs? I see some classics here; Alfie (from the motion picture), My Funny Valentine, That’s All, and Dry Martini? (CZ) My Funny Valentine was actually recorded after a conversation… with a truly fine woman… who'd shared her sentiments about the song. Alfie… because I always dug it. The only thing is, I always thought ...

$15.65 The folks at Time Life would like you to think that this is a treasure box filled with forgotten gems from J.J. Cale's long career. It's full, all right, of tracks recorded between 1971 and 1993. But there was good reason to leave them off the albums they were recorded for. Most were cut with a band between 1973 and 1982, though even the cover is wrong here, since there is a reading of Waylon Jennings' classic "Waymore's Blues" cut with largely uncredited musicians in 1971. Unfortunately, it adds nothing to the original. The players included here have been among Nashville ...
