Hope Askew hails from Hampton Roads, Virginia where she regularly attends church at Second Calvary under the pastoral direction of Dr. Geoffrey Guns. Since childhood, Hope has wowed audiences with her vocal skill and natural talent. At the age of seventeen, Hope began her professional music career. Before signing to a Gospel label, Hope had written a hosts of R & B songs, released an international single in Germany titled, "I don't have no time" and released a regional single titled, The Hoop in the Us. With help from her manager, Shelton Flyth, she landed an opening spot on Ginuwine's Pony Tour. She is also an undefeated champion on the "Amateur Night at the Apollo" show. Hope Askew's first Gospel label release was the CD single "Try Jesus". The song received rave reviews and is constantly being played and requested throughout the US. In a custom critique by Taxi staff, the song was said to have, "a very cool lift", "Feels real good...interesting and fresh". Hope's debut album was released in November of 2004. The first single entitled, "Don't want to live without you" is on the National Gospel Truth Magazine Compilation (..20) cd. She was featured there with Keith Wonderboy, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee, Damian Little, Jimmy Hicks, Smokey Robinson and many great national acts. Hope went on to tape several TV shows including Bobby Jones Gospel, and WGNs Singsation in Chicago. Hope has been blessed to share the stage with Pastor Andrae Crouch, Ty Tribbett, Fred Hammond, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Keith Wonderboy, Ziel, Coko, Lucinda Moore, Bishop Neal Roberson, Minister Earl Bynum, Darrell McFadden and the Disciples, Damian Little, Soul Seekers, Witness, Darwin Hobbs, Doc McKenzie, to name a few. Hopes newest project, recorded by Ray Braswell Jr and Jamal Lewis for Raymarkable studios, is a project for all walks of life. This project is full of surprises. It is URBAN, TRADITIONAL, CONTEMPORARY, NEO-SOUL, AND RIGHT ON TIME!
