| | Richard Rodgers Victory At Sea CD (1992)
Bokuno Natsuyasumi Video Game Soundtrack
$10.09 The 1952 NBC series Victory at Sea was one of the earliest network documentary series to capture the public's imagination in a serious way, and one of the more enduring offshoots was the music by Richard Rodgers, which was recorded by RCA-Victor in what ultimately became a series of four LPs. Rodgers was chosen by series producer Henry Salamon based on his being the "leading American composer of his day," a somewhat exalted (though understandable) judgement for a man who was most closely associated with the Broadway stage and Hollywood. The albums were popular, probably due in part to the fact that the music was accessible and ...

| | Scarface CD (1990) Remastered
Bokuno Natsuyasumi Video Game Soundtrack
$7.25 Giorgio Moroder did a lot of soundtrack work during the early '80s, and one of his most well-known soundtracks is that of Scarface, the iconic Al Pacino film from 1983. Of all the films Moroder scored, from American Gigolo (1980) and Flashdance (1983) to Electric Dreams (1984) and The Never Ending Story (1984), Scarface is undoubtedly the one that withstood the test of time most impressively, growing in popularity as the years passed (culminating in a well-received DVD reissue in 2003 that probably did more business than the film itself did its first go round). The same cannot be said about the film's soundtrack, however. While each of Moroder's aforementioned soundtracks spun off huge hits -- "Call Me," "Flashdance," "Together in Electric Dreams," and "Never Ending Story" -- Scarface fell more in line with another ...

| | Roger Silverberg Sketches & Footprints CD (2005)
Bokuno Natsuyasumi Video Game Soundtrack
$9.49 Roger Silverberg grew up at one of the more opportune times for music. The AM radio dial in the 50s and 60s was alive with Rock 'n Roll, Country, Blues, Doo-Wop, R & B, and styles that have (much) later been lumped into the broad Americana categories. It is hardly a surprise that bits and pieces of all these should be present in his songwriting and performing style. Roger grew up loving the live music experience. His father came from a large mid-western family where everyone sang and played. Early favorites of Roger’s included Hank Williams, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holley ᾽ all musicians his dad listened to. But the house was filled with records by Ella Fitzgerald, the Mills Brothers, and others. Roger played those 78s and 45s and rapidly became curious about the variety of sounds out there. (The roots of his "music without walls" philosophy?) A guitar player since 1963, Roger gave his first solo performance in 1964 (doing Roger Miller’s King of the Road), formed his first band in 1966, wrote his first serious songs in 1969-70, and performed regularly with bands and as a soloist throughout the 70s in the Philadelphia, PA area. Relocating to New York in 1982, Roger gravitated to the Greenwich Village scene and played everywhere from open mics and on the street to some of the venues that are still there on Bleeker Street. No, the Bottom Line was not one of them, sorry to say. The move triggered a wave of new songs, some of which Roger still puts into his set.Now based in Huntington, Long ...
