Richard has a background in classical piano and string bass, and for a number of years played in many of the local orchestras in San Diego, as well as performing in many Broadway shows. He has performed extensively in nightclubs and worked countless private engagements, and concert situations. As a result of his experience, Richard has developed a broad variety of approaches to the tasks of composition and arrangement. He absolutely delighted in his work for the site during his term and we hope you do as well...Richard has played in virtually all the major spots around San Diego, including the Civic Theatre and Symphony Hall as well as the"Del," Holiday Inns, Hyatts, Marriotts, Sheratons, US Grant., not to mention engagements in the LA area and New York..... Some of the shows he has worked are Grease, Meet Me in St. Louis, Pia Zadora, South Pacific, etc., as well as productions for Starlight and the Old Globe. He has played with such jazz and blues greats as Terry Gibbs, Charles McPherson, Illinois Jacquett, Big Mama Thornton, etc......
