I am a born and bred southern boy from N.C. Its hard to pick a place I haven't lived or traveled to; Miami, N.Y.,L.A., D.C., Paris, Milan, Stockholm, Madrid, Buenos Aires, Thailand,etc...No matter where I've been, I always end up back in North Carolina!!:) At the moment, i am holed up in a studio in northern Virginia recording my debut solo cd with a phenominal guitarist and producer, Gary Thomas. The songs I write are a reflection of my life and the roads I have experienced along the way. I've spent the last few years of my life playing dive bars and honky tonks across the U.S. I live these songs and God willing, will continue to do so for a long while!!! $30.54 1951 was a breakthrough year for Hank Williams. He had a string of moderate country hits already under his belt, but the release that year of his version of an old jazz age novelty tune called "Lovesick Blues" suddenly made him a big star. It also meant his touring schedule increased, but he still found time that year to slip into Nashville and prerecord shows for the Mother's Best Flour Company. These good-natured and intimate performances were cut to acetate discs and then played over the air on Nashville's WSM radio station. ...

As another reviewer aptly phrased it, Gellman's songs are "Kodak moments" from his life.He often performs in nursing homes and retirement communities, and even used a choir of senior citizens as backup on the track "Almeda at 90" from his album "Photobook". $12.69 "The first time I heard Cheley was around four years ago at a writer's club in Nashville. I was instantly drawn to her voice. I've heard literally thousands of singers during my career as a songwriter/producer and I've heard a lot of very good singers. Every now and then however, you hear someone who REALLY makes youwant to listen to what they're saying and Cheley does that. I'm definately a fan and once you hear her, you will be too." - Reese Wilson, writer #1 single "She Can't Say I Didn't Cry" recorded by Rick Trevino, #1 single "Not On Your Love" recorded by Jeff Carson, Top 5 single "Places I've Never Been" recorded by Mark Wills, Top 10 single "It's All In Your Head" recorded by Diamond Rio as well as cuts by Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Tanya Tucker, Clay Walker, Aaron Tippin, and Neal McCoy."There are alot of singer/songwriters who try to copy what they've heard and don't tap into what they feel. Cheley Tackett is NOT one of these people. She has a great voice and a great talent for songwriting that will kill you!" - Chris Wallin, writer "I'm Tryin'" recorded by Trace Adkins (and currently in the country Top 40), "That's What Brother's Do" recorded by Confederate Railroad, and "3 Seconds" recorded by Sammy Kershaw and Lorrie Morgan."In Nashville, they talk about a song giving you "chillbumps," and that's what happens every time I hear Cheley Tackett. It's a combination of her bluesy voice, sweet soulful ballads, uptempo swampy grooves, and disarming wry humor. I've worked with Cheley at a bunch of shows and she's always got something new, something that makes me ask, 'How come more people don't know about this woman?' For now, I'm grateful to be included in the secret."- Steve Key, writer "33, 45, 78" recorded by Kathy Mattea and host of Washington D.C.'s ...

Janet also performed for 7 years at the Maryland Renaissance Festival as part of two musical comedy acts, Washbourne and Whare and Full Measure. This setting helped to hone the wit that is part of Janet's stage show.In 2000, when Janet returned full time to writing and performing her brand of soul-filled acoustic music, her re-entry into the folk world was welcomed by her loyal fans. Since that time, she has performed with Michelle Shocked, David Wilcox, Rod Picott and many others. In 2003, Janet independently released her first CD "Gabriel". She brought together an amazing array of players such as Jay Turner (bass), Jeff Sarli (slide guitar), and Josh Howell (percussion) along with other local talent. This long-awaited project features songs that have been delighting her fans for years as well as strong new compositions.
