| | Gregg Thomas Northern World CD Gregg Thomas Discography of CDs
In his latest musical endeavor Gregg has written a collection of songs about life in the Northwood’s of Wisconsin. His new CD, “Northern World”, is all about the allurement of this natural setting. It’s about our cabins, our rivers, our lakes, our wildlife, and our towns. It’s about taking walks in the woods, the ponderings of life, love, and the many wonders found around every corner and in each new vista.Living in this unique part of the world he invites you to take the journey with him, to listen, and to absorb the images. Wrap yourself in the cathedrals of pines, in the vistas of our pure blue lakes, or envelope your senses in the song of the loon. Author and Naturalist John Bates writes:“Gregg’s music and lyrics evoke the northwoods. There’s no short course to finding an authentic sense of place, to feeling like you fit into the natural community of life here. Gregg’s music says he’s found the feeling of home in the North Country, and it’s a delight to hear his expression of it.”This CD has something to offer those who venture into Wisconsin’s Northwood’s and can appreciate, imagine, and enjoy its infinite nuances. | | Todd Mullins Group Eyes Like Mine CD (2003)
Northern World songs
$8.39 Artist Information TMG's new release, "Eyes Like Mine" features ten songs. Tracks 1-9 were all written, arranged and produced by Todd Mullins. Many of the songs reflect special meanings into Todd Mullins' musical creation. Track 1, "B.A.M." is his son's initials. The smoothness in this song depicts much of his son's character. Track 2, "Audrey Faye" was titled after his mother. She has been a huge support in his life, encouraging him to follow his dream of becoming an inspiring saxophone player. Track 3, "Mine Games" was written around the cords his son was playing on the keyboard. With the help of his son, he asked him what he should call the song after it was finished. "Video Games" was his son's suggestion. After a little tweaking, they decided on "Mind Games". Track 4, "Eyes Like Mine", the title song of the CD, was written for his youngest daughter. The only thing that resembles him is her bright blue eyes. Track's 8 & 9, "Taylor's Way I" & "Taylor's Way II" were specially written for Todd's middle daughter. ...
| | David Swanson In My Heart CD (2003)
Northern World album
$11.39 When David Swanson plays music, he imagines himself sitting at the feet of Jesus, offering the songs as gifts of praise. "The Lord helps me do it," said Swanson, owner of Swanson's Organs, Pianos and Gifts at 425 North Main St., Hendersonville, (NC 28792)."All through the Bible there are verses that talk about praising the Lord with music. I am computer-illiterate and a piano quitter, but I've always enjoyed music. I enjoy creating sounds. God has given me a gift to be able to do that."Swanson creates those sounds with Technics keyboards, a highly sophisticated electronic instrument that allows him to have a complete orchestra at his fingertips. He sells keyboards in his shop and through years of experimentation with different combinations of sounds and rhythms, he is able to program the instruments in ways few other keyboard dealers can."It's like a recipe," said Swanson. "You have to start with good ingredients. The Technics instruments have the best sound in the world. Then you add your own butter and salt."His "butter and salt" are layers upon layers of strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion. The result is a richness and fullness of sound that makes it hard to believe that all that music is coming from an instrument with only 61 notes. Now, that ability to create sounds has been used to produce two compact discs of music close to Swanson's heart. The first, THE LOVE OF GOD, is a collection of over 70 minutes of praise and worship music. (This CD is currently being remastered.) The second, THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS, is a project suggested by his youngest son, Kevin. Both are available at Swanson's shop."When I sell an instrument, I include a floppy disk of songs I've arranged to show the customer how the keyboard can sound," said Swanson. "A number of customers told me I should record something."He began work on the first CD in August (2000), working with a Technics KN6000 keyboard at home. He chose the songs, worked out the arrangements and recorded all the tracks on a floppy disk."I did all my work between midnight and 3 a.m.," said Swanson. "That's my creative time. Of course, I used the headphones."When he had all the ...
| | Harry All The Way Through CD (2006)
Northern World CD music
$20.29 HARRY - 'THE BEST DAMN PIANIST IN THE CIVILISED WORLD!' (Jonathan Ross BBC TV)Since starting to play at the age of four Harry has set about proving that he can do 'absolutely anything on piano'. Quite simply, he does things with the instrument that you've never heard before, moving seamlessly between jazz, cabaret and classical in a manner that hasn't been seen in the UK since the heyday of Dudley Moore.Very few artists can command respect in such differing fields, but Harry has such an extraodinary talent that as well as running a 20 piece dance band by the age of nineteen and appearing with a who's who of British jazz musicians culminating with a night atthe famous Ronnie Scotts jazz club in London last year, he has also accompanied just about everybody in the business from Englebert Humperndink and Charlotte Church to David Bowie and James Belushi via Elvis Costello and opera star Sir Willard White as well as being musical director for top of the bill acts at the Moulin Rouge in his early twenties and subsequently going on to direct performers as diverse as Rick Astley, Phill Jupitus, Max Bygraves, The Opera Babes, Fay Presto and literally scores of others. He appeared recently on BBC Radio 3 taking requests from a live audience to play any tune in the style of the composer of their choice to rapturous acclaim and prompted the comment from astonished presenter Brian Kaye 'How does he do it?' After a recent sellout concert celebrating the best of British pianistic talent where Harry was asked to perform, the international star concert pianist Martin Roscoe noted 'You ...

Then a visitor in Nashville - the town Gordie now calls home for much of the year - he was pitching songs and looking for a lucky break. Two of the songs from Sunburn went ...
