Building on the momentum of 2005's well-received DARK LIGHT, which finally garnered HIM a large international following, VENUS DOOM finds perpetually brooding frontman Ville Valo once again leading his darkly clad ensemble through a set of lovelorn metal tunes. This time around, however, the revered Scandinavian agro-goth band tones down the atmospheric keyboard parts, allowing Mikko "Linde" Lindstrom's stinging guitar work, which often nods to veteran hard-rock six-stringer Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society/Ozzy Osbourne), to shine through, resulting in one of HIM's heaviest albums. Highlights of VENUS DOOM include the surging "Passion's Killing Floor" and "The Kiss of Dawn," an ominous mid-tempo track.

I must say that I was not a big H.I.M fan in the begining but after listening to this CD, I think that is all to change.
I was very surprised at how different they sound from all the other metal bands out there. I love metal, but it needs to have a different flavour, so to speak. And H.I.M has it.
Go check out the CD, it's worth it, believe me (^.^)

Ville Valo is a sex god. If Jesus came down to earth and was a rock star/sex icon he would look and sound exactly like Ville Valo. Ville secretly wants me, he wrote the Kiss of Dawn after reading my love letters. (My Shrink told me he didn't and that I am "Obsessed," but what does he know he is just a doctor. N E ways, this CD does sound different, but it is a great different! It's like Ville on top of me or me on top of him, both a different feel, but both totally GREAT!! Listen to this CD, go away to a dream world (With Ville in it) and pleasure yourself as your ears are being pleasured by Ville's sweet tunes. This is Dan "The Man" Westover, begging Ville to call me Sweetie!

Despite having releases available mostly on import, the Finnish metal band HIM has inspired an incredibly loyal cult following in the United States. In late 2003, Universal reissued this, the group's sophomore album from 2000 (which reportedly sold over a million copies in Europe), with two remixed tracks from HIM's debut and one new song. Something About Me If I told my whole small life story you would get tired of me real quick. So, I'll tell you a few things about certain areas of my past. Here goes. I was raised 12 miles outside of Holly Springs Mississippi on a 56-acre farm. Holly Springs is about 40 miles South East of Memphis. We had cows and grew our own food.After graduation, I moved to Memphis and got a job at a grocery warehouse. I learned about the fast life quickly and knew at an early age I wanted to do something different. In the-mid 80's I had several jobs, moved to Nebraska for a year then Kansas for 3 years. In my late 20's I realized I had to get an education, so I went back to school. I was interested in music but knew what the odds were for being successful. So, taking the technical route, I finally got my BS in mid 1998. Around 1980 I wrote my first song. My friends said it wasn't that good and it really wasn't country. I always loved to play the guitar and sing cover songs. In the-mid 1990's I joined a Memphis band called "Country Comfort." I was the lead singer for about 2 years. We only played cover songs and before that, I wrote several other songs. Using my own material at that time would have been too awkward for me. I did not feel comfortable singing in front of an audience yet. Even now, it's a little uncomfortable at first until I can get the crowd into it. My personal life reflects many of my songs yet, some of my songs are only imaginary. I can't say which ones are and aren't (I'll explain more to my fans later). After getting my masters degree in 1999, I moved from the Memphis area to a small town in Tennessee. I really like the people here and hope the job situation and politics stay under control so I can stay. I love my job and writing songs. We all dream about not having to go to work. If someday I get the opportunity to only write songs and perform, that would be wonderful because, for 41 years I have seen what life is like and what I perceive true friendship and relationships are really about. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this CD does well because "Dream" my next CD is already written. Boy meets "Sugar Cane" they start seeing each other all the time cause she drives him insane. "Some Girls" It's a situation where she is different from the other girls he has known before. She has the power to make him want her by being gone? Great guitar! "She's My Baby" This is an up-beat southern rock new country sound about the beauty of a true relationship and how a dream becomes real. "Gone With the Wind" This is a sad but true ballad relating the story of a mother who has had all she can take and leaves. The father reflects on the past trying to understand why this is happening. "Outskirts of Town" A guy from the other side of town meets a lady from the elite side of town. They take a chance. "The Deer Song" There's a big buck in them woods. Ever see that buck wearing what looks like a rocking chair on his head? Hope you hear it. "For You" is the title track. This (may be true) song is about a guy who is crazy about a girl that has no interest what so ever for him. She confides in him.
