| | Nintendo DS (Dual-Screen) Professor Layton: Curious Village (3 Customer Reviews)
When the wealthy Baron Augustus Reinhold passes away, his will reveals a hidden treasure in the village of St. Mystere. Unable to locate the treasure themselves, the baron's family calls upon renowned puzzle expert Professor Layton and his apprentice, Luke, for help. Upon the pair's arrival, their search for the treasure is interrupted by the suspicious death of another member of the Reinhold family. Now with two mysteries on their hands, Professor Layton and Luke must work their way through the village's many puzzles, riddles and brainteasers to find the truth. Professor Layton: Curious Village Games Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) THE game for your DS! Professor Layton and the Curious Village has got all the ingredients for making a superb game; great graphics, a nice soundtrack, a engaging story and it's packed with puzzling brainteasers all the way through. And when you've finished the game (which could take several hours, though you won't notice them passing by since this game is so fun), you can go on-line to download new puzzles weekly, so the replayability of this game is great.
A perfect DS game in my opinion, a highly recommended must-buy for the DS! Submitted by Erik (Jessheim, Norway) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A great game for puzzle lovers The puzzles range from easy to downright challenging. There is an engaging storyline as well. The art and music are quite good. I can't wait for the sequel. Apparently there is already a THIRD title out in Japan. Hope we get the second title soon. I purchased a U.S.B Wi-fi connector just to get the weekly downloadable puzzles. Need more like Prof Layton! If you like puzzles, this is the game for you! I've been looking for a good puzzle-type game since solving DaVinci Code on PS2 and Professor Layton is it! There are many different types of puzzles/riddles/games to solve/play and you have the option of coming back to them if they prove too difficult. There are also hidden puzzles and hidden "hint coins" so it pays to take your time and explore every location and talk to each person as often as possible.
My only suggestion would be to make it LONGER. It was over way too soon! Submitted by Dee (Hackensack, NJ, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Features As Professor Layton, players tackle more than 130 puzzles as they unravel the mysteries of the village. Challenges range from mazes and riddles to logic and sliding puzzles, many of which are new for the North American release. Touch-screen controls make working through puzzles a snap for players of all skill levels, and new puzzles are available weekly for download via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Unlike other puzzle-driven titles, Professor Layton is the first to offer a story, cast of characters and style that are just as strong as the game play. Fully voiced animated scenes bring the story to life, while the funny and eccentric villagers and the classic, hand-drawn art provide a stylish charm that will appeal to gamers and non-gamers alike. The storyline and puzzles are tightly integrated, so that as you explore the world and progress through the adventure, you will encounter more and more puzzles. Many of the puzzles are new to the North American release. Each week for half a year, a new puzzle will be available for download via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Professor Layton: Curious Village Hints There are more puzzles in the game than the ones that are immediately available to play. Professor Layton: Curious Village game
$33.95 The game follows the adventures of Link and Tetra, the leader of a band of pirates, as they discover a ghost ship in dense fog. Link falls into the ocean when Tetra gets into trouble, and he wakes up alone on the shore of a mysterious island. Throughout the game, Link collects sand for his Phantom Hourglass, which allows him to explore deeper and deeper into a time-limited dungeon in his quest to find Tetra.
In both style and characters, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass echoes the smash-hit The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for Nintendo GameCube. But the inviting, easy-to-understand story and ease of control will attract casual and younger players who might be new to Zelda games. The game features a two-player battle mode that can be activated via the game's Wi-Fi connection, as well ...
