With his small, dingy practice expanded into a thriving operation, Private Investigator Jake Gittes (Jack Nicholson) is now a card-carrying member of the bourgeoisie and engaged to be married. He still does a divorce case occasionally, however, and it is just such a case that draws Gittes into a complicated web of intrigue and corruption involving the mysterious daughter of the dead Evelyn Mulwray. When the husband of an adulterous wife (whom Gittes is investigating) murders his wife's lover, it first appears to be a simple crime of passion. But as the case unfolds, it turns out that the victim was actually the husband's real-estate partner, and the murder may have been committed in order to gain control of a lucrative property development. In his effort to solve the mystery, Jake is forced to reexamine the painful events of his past--specifically, his love affair with Evelyn Mulwray. Third directing effort for actor Jack Nicholson who stars as J.J. Gittes in "Chinatown," as well as its sequel,"The Two Jakes."
Filmed in Panavision and Technicolor, in California.
Screenwriter Robert Towne, who wrote the scripts for both "Chinatown" and "The Two Jakes," was originally scheduled to direct but the production was cancelled a few days before it was supposed to start shooting. "The Two Jakes," plagued by troubles from its inception, was shelved for several years until Jack Nicholson stepped in as director. Towne intended the two films to be part of a trilogy dealing with the corruption surrounding the development of Southern California and the criminal appropriation of its natural resources, such as water and oil.
Supporting actress, Rebecca Broussard, who plays Jake's secretary Gladys, is the mother of two of Jack Nicholson's children.
Jennifer Nicholson, the assistant production designer, is his daughter by actress Shirley Knight.

$13.99 Francis Ford Coppola's Vietnam epic, loosely based on the novel HEART OF DARKNESS by Joseph Conrad, tells the story of Captain Willard (Martin Sheen), a special agent sent into Cambodia to assassinate an errant American colonel (Marlon Brando). Willard is assigned to a navy patrol boat operated by Chief (Albert Hall) and three hapless soldiers (Frederic Forrest, Sam Bottoms, and Larry Fishburne). They are escorted on part of their journey by an air cavalry unit led by Lt. Colonel Kilgore (Robert Duvall), a gung-ho commander with a love of Wagner, surfing, and napalm. After witnessing a surreal USO show featuring Playboy playmates, and an anarchic battle with the Viet Cong at a bridge, Willard reaches Colonel Kurtz's compound. A crazed photojournalist and Kurtz groupie (Dennis Hopper) welcomes the crew, and Willard begins to question his orders to "terminate the colonel's command." ...

$9.85 “Marquette’s Eye” is a dusty western trek of a lone fortune hunter finding comfort in bordellos as he searches for a hidden hoard. (X marks the spot in this tale). The verse fades to a century descendant in search of being after the holocaust in “Atomic Soldier”.“Cumberland” is a fervent expectation of escape from the eastern winter to a fjord lake with ladies bathing in the coves while musicians float and sing.“Jamaica” is for the fishing lifestyle where Marley is king and one only needs to wonder for food.“That Woman” visits the Lennon style and expresses that coexisting demise. ...

$25.39 Ostensibly about a dead chicken reanimated by a mad scientist and forced to watch endless bad television, ROBOT CHICKEN actually exists as a madcap exercise in cramming as many inane pop-culture references, gags, and juxtapositions into a 11-minute time period as is humanly possible. Created by actor Seth Green (AUSTIN POWER, THE FAMILY GUY, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) and ToyFare editor Matthew Senreich (the two met and bonded over their mutual love for action figures and collectible figurines), the Cartoon Network show uses stop-action animation and a host of dolls and action-figures to perform outrageous send-ups of television, film, and postmodern America. The premises are zany and zip by with supersonic speed: The Batmobile races the General Lee in "3 Fast 3 Furious," a teeny-bobber gets a fashion makeover in "Pimp My Sister," and Michael Jackson returns from space to expose his evil alter ego in "Where's Michael." This release contains all 20 episodes from the show's first season, with such guest star voice-actors as Scarlett Johansson, Burt Reynolds, Ryan Seacrest, Mark Hamill and Macaulay Culkin.
Old-school stop-motion animation and fast-paced ...
