I grew up in a big, musical family in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with 3 bathrooms and two pianos. When I was 13, I started playing the guitar and improvising on the piano. My older brother had a drum set and showed me a few things. At 16, I was invited to join a band-The Magic Egg- playing mostly drums, with a little guitar and some backup singing. I didn’t start singing solo until I was 19. My early work as a musician was mostly in churches, on retreats, at weddings or around campfires. I played in a few concerts and was part of a group called New Life. I was a music director in a couple of settings. Several years ago I joined a cover band called Roadstar which was great fun but long hours. Now I am out on my own playing popular songs and a few originals.
