Nobody who likes music could fail to be emotionally moved by this album, and not just because Marley is no longer with us. It was a special live treat before he died. The great thing about this record is the feeling that this is what it was like every night, unlike other live recordings which capture one or two gigs of a tour. Marley was extra special and a giant of popular music. Wallow in this vital record and listen to a man who had something to say and yet ...

Or don’t. Victoria Vox and Her Jumping Flea will take you there. These ten refreshingly uplifting ditties performed on her “jumping flea” ('ukulele in Hawaiian) are guaranteed to make you laugh, dance and spread a smile from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This is a timeless collection of toe-tapping classics for every season and for music lovers of all ages.On Jumping Flea, her fifth solo release, but first album of songs written for and performed solely on the ukulele, Victoria Vox manages to incorporate the many aspects of her self. The hopeless romantic has sonically captured the soft pangs of love’s frustrations and the glorious feat of falling right back into it. There are songs of travel and change; Vox grew up near Green Bay, Wisconsin, but has tiptoed through Boston, Nashville, London, and driven, both ways, on nearly every major highway in the United States. As a full time independent songwriter, Vox has criss-crossed our great country, finding inspiration in every piece of asphalt that ...

| | Commander Cody Live From Armadillo World Headquarters 1973 And The Capitol Theatre 1975 CDs (2007) Digipak
Rhythm 2 Rhythm, Vol. 5 music CDs
$15.89 There have been many dubious live offerings by the classic Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen over the years. This is not to say that the tapes weren't licensed in some way -- perhaps they put some much needed pocket change in the various ex-members' pockets, which is fine. But this one is an authoritative reissue; one of these two discs has not previously been heard on CD. In some ways, this is the real Grail for those looking for Lost Planet Airmen rarities and shows. Issued on the SPV Blue imprint, disc one in this collection, recorded in 1973 at the Armadillo World Headquarters, contains the editing-room casualties from the band's first live album, Live from Deep in the Heart of Texas. While the released set has the official distinction of being one of Rolling Stone mag's greatest 100 records of all time, hardcore fans knew it was in some ways a hatchet job because it doesn't flow the way a Commander show usually did. What's on this disc is the reason: 13 of these cuts were issued on the Music Avenue label as Texas Roadhouse Favorites in 2006, but this set contains 17. It's the rock and blues set with a few country and trucker faves ...
