A classic release from one of Jamaica's greats, NIGHT NURSE shows the Cool Ruler at his best--performing melodic, chilled reggae such as the title track and "Hot Stepper." The title track was a hit for Simply Red when they covered it in 1997. Although at his most prolific in the mid '80s, when he was beset by financial problems, Isaacs managed to maintain the quality of his material as this album proves. The Roots Radics provide excellent backing for Isaacs' smooth vocals. Perhaps a bit too mellow for fans of more militant reggae such as that purveyed by the Revolutionaries, time has nevertheless proved this to be a classic reggae album--the epitome of the feel-good Jamaican sound. Although his 1981 album, More Gregory, was picked up for international distribution, Gregory Isaacs' 1982 release, Night Nurse, was his first to be designed for an audience outside Jamaica. Accordingly, Island Records head Chris Blackwell upgraded the overall sound quality, making this Isaacs' most professional-sounding record yet, and he brought in synthesizer player Wally Badarou to overdub keyboard parts on the tracks, making them less spare and distinguishing the arrangements more. Mark Blackburn is a legend. A legend that will last a lunch-time. Having been involved in the Georgia Music scene for over 25 years, Mark has encountered many changing musical styles and weathered many different hairstyles. Mark was responsible for the "sterling-silver sound" as guitarist and founding member of the seminal Christian Pop Jangle band Jacob's Trouble in 1987. He recorded 4 albums before leaving in 1992 to endure a relatively obscure solo coffeehouse career. Mark has worked with many Christian music pioneers including Randy Stonehill & Mark Heard and has had the opportunity to travel around the world.

This CD, "Flowerchild", was released in 1996 and is the recorded output of a group of songs that had been road tested by Mark and his band. The album consists of 12 songs - 8 originals and 2 covers (traditonal folk classic - Old Dog Blue & the Byrds classic Turn! Turn! Turn!) and 2 remixes. Mark also has another CD, released in 1997, available from CD Baby - "The Continuing Adventures of...".

In April 2000 the Georgia Music Hall of Fame gave a display to Mark & Jacob's Trouble for their contribution to Georgia's music heritage.
