AT WORLD'S END is an exercise in excess, boasting a running time of nearly three hours and a labyrinthine map of double- and triple-crosses. Characters return from the dead and change allegiances with ease, thanks to the magic of Tia Dalma (Naomie Harris) and the pirate code of ethics--or lack thereof. Though the third film in the series is filled with action and special effects befitting any blockbuster, it's the performances that make the movie memorable. Depp has earned an Oscar nod for his role as Jack, but he's not the only one who shines. With Jack locked away, the film sits on the strong shoulders of Rush, as well as Stellan Skarsgard as Bootstrap Bill and the brilliant British actor Bill Nighy as Davy Jones. Despite having to act behind a mess of CGI tentacles, Nighy nearly steals the show, as in the previous films UNDERWORLD and LOVE ACTUALLY. This is literally and figuratively the darkest entry in director Gore Verbinski's trilogy, as the film trades the sunny skies of the Caribbean for the world's most treacherous seas. There's plenty of rum-soaked humor, but it's balanced by betrayal and sacrifice. Awesome movie! It had a lot more mythic complexity than the other movies, which was enthralling to watch unfold and really required some thinking and attention to plot elements. Very refreshing in a movie marketplace full of explosion-and-jiggly-bits laden pre-digested pap designed to require no thinking whatsoever, and atrophy the brains of the viewing public. This has some thinking as well as explosions, and even a smidgen of jiggly bits. Not bad for a Disney movie.
My only issue with it had nothing to do with the movie itself, but that there is a glitch in my dvd that makes it freeze for a few minutes at the start of chapter 12 and then skip straight to chapter 13. Which sucks, but I got to see most of it by reversing from the start of chapter 13, back into 12.

 A big letdown!!!
My how the mighty have fallen?!This movie is a dud from beginning to end.The story leaps back and forth way too much and Johnny Depp's screentime is cutdown considerably.Bottom Line:you can't fan off a stinker this bad.

The movies good just a little long though!!!
I have two complaint's, one is that the storyline felt long,and it's okay to be long,just don't feel long,and the other is that it was a bit wierd,but hey so was the second one.Plus that one was boring with not alot of comedy in it.
Now for the possitives,one is that I liked the storyline,and this did have a bit more comedy so that's really good,plus more action,and special effect's,all together it's worth the buy.Just a bit long winded,plus I'd like to see a new villain on the sequal.Maybe Blackbeard or something...

the movie is for our grandchildren . our grandkids have the two previous movies of the pirates of the caribbean. they thought the new movie at worlds end was awesome.will there be a sequel? for those of who have not seen the two previous movies, watch them and then watch at worlds end to know what the movie is all about.
