Popular songs are often associated with the vocalists that made them famous but few artists actually have the distinction of having a "theme" song along the lines of Bob Hope with "Thanks for the Memories." Even fewer can claim to have two theme songs attached to them and Andy Williams is one of those fortunate stars. After "Moon River" became forever linked to Williams, he recorded a holiday song for his first Christmas album that gave him a yuletide hit and theme song. Reviews:NOCTURNAL HALL:Yes, with their debut record Designed To Dislike, Danish thrasher gents, haunting under a pitch black flag, cause some furor. Contrary to the album title PITCHBLACK gets loved everywhere, receiving raving reviews. I’d say they at least are candidates for the title “newcomer of the year 2007”.Designed To Dislike downright explodes right from the beginning, unleashing pure energy upon the listener. Modern Thrash aggressions get twisted with unobstrusive death metal elements and classic old school Thrash. In between singer Danlhjel ranges with his alternating voice. He screams and shouts, growls and also comes up with wonderful clean singing. Per se a varied matter. But his craftmen don’t fall any bit short: highspeed thrashing parts, grooving monster riffing (Black Holocaust - killer song! - and Angelized), a suprising acoustic interlude in the middle of the record (A New Era), solos, some samples and wonderful melody arrangements…. All these things can be found on Designed To Dislike without acting overloaded or planless. Though I have to confess that PICHTBLACK don’t add anything new to this genre, they just range in known fields. The mix jazzes up the record but the most striking thing is the high level of energy that immediately catches the listener and the fun these guys have while playing.
