 The (Really) Complete Sibelius!! BIS BIS BIS!!
I love the music of Jean (Johan)Christian Julius Sibelius, but this initial offering from Bis of the complete music has me loving it all the more! Utterly clear and natural recordings with more deep end bass than I am used to from classical recordings adds to the flavor...much like a fine cook making the meal with just the right seasoning. The tone poems are generally well known to classical collectors, and this edition gives you original editions of many of them, i.e., En Saga along with it's final version; Finland Awakes which morphed into the well known Finlandia, Scenes Historiques I and II; two versions of the Lemminkainen Suite, and much more. I find myself chewing at the bit to hear more and more!! I've just put my order in for Set 2 which includes Chamber Music. Anyone in the slightest interested in the music of this great man needs to buy this set! I doubt that your purchase will be regreted. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
