| Super FUNK sampler!
For a 3-cd sampling of various "funk" artists this set is really good. Sure there are omissions some purists find unacceptable (they always do) but really folks, check out the track listing here and you'll find quite a variety represented. Each cd has a track time of about 1 hour (some slightly more), with excellent sound (remastered?), adequate liner notes (nothing too detailed but does the job)and most important...the sequencing of the tracks flow really nice. Those artists who are featured more than once are not lumped together but spaced nicely throughout, giving the whole 3-cd set a funky, consistant groove. For the money this baby is the 3-cd set to get especially for those new to the FUNK mindset. The music is fun (upbeat) funky (a groove-fest) and freaky (the flow of styles can be quirky in a good way).

thought the cd would be filled with good ole songs that i would remeber...well i think i put 6 songs on my mp3.

I wanted this compilation because I could not find an out of print CD. The tune I wanted is on the "True Funk" set. I call it a set because it has 3 CDs not just 2 as I thought. "Giving you more of what you're funkin' for."
