Seeing how the film Feel the Noise is the story of a rapper, played by Omarion, finding "salvation in reggaeton," the soundtrack is mostly outgoing reggaeton with just a touch of rap and an even smaller touch of R&B. Any worthwhile genre-blending is to be found on the first two cuts with Omarion himself in charge of the slick dancefloor seduction of "Cut Off Time" while Pras brings his swagger to the polished reggaeton of "Pa la Calle." Wyclef Jean's contribution is forgettable, and the rest of the highlights are pure reggaeton, with Voltio delivering the skeletal and infectious "Chulin, Culin, Chunfly" while the mighty Tego Calderón joins Nejo for "No Quiere Novio." Feel the Noise's biggest problem is its skimpy 37-minute run time, which doesn't make much sense, since the film's story is based around music. A fair souvenir of the film and not much more. ~ David Jeffries

Feel The Noise Soundtrack music CDs
$10.09 The 1952 NBC series Victory at Sea was one of the earliest network documentary series to capture the public's imagination in a serious way, and one of the more enduring offshoots was the music by Richard Rodgers, which was recorded by RCA-Victor in what ultimately became a series of four LPs. Rodgers was chosen by series producer Henry Salamon based on his being the "leading American composer of his day," a somewhat exalted (though understandable) judgement for a man who was most closely associated with the Broadway stage and Hollywood. The albums were popular, probably due in part to the fact that the music was accessible and unchallenging, and that it insinuated itself for months into the household of seemingly every American family that had someone fighting in World War II -- and that a lot of veterans owned stereo systems in the late '50s, and these recordings took full advantage of stereo's two-channel sound separation. As to the music itself, one finds on listening to it 40+ years later that a little goes a long way. Rodgers devised a straightforward melodic score whose most inspired moments (such ...

Music composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Lyrics written by Tim Rice.
73 minutes of playing time, from a show that originally ran for some 15 to 20 minutes, means that this album must be a recording of a contemporary production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's biblical musical. In fact, it is from the highly successful 1991 London Palladium revival which starred Australian actor and pop star Jason Donovan as Joseph and Linzi ...
