Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Amaray Case When newly-divorced Lucy moves her sons to her father's house in Santa Clara, California -- "the murder capital of the world" -- her teenage son, Michael, quickly falls in with the town's bad kids: a bike-riding, Jim Morrison-worshipping gang of blood-sucking vampires. Her younger son Sam and his buddies, the Frog brothers, are the only ones who recognize the signs of vampirism in Michael, and they plot to battle the legions of the night before they take over the entire town. One of the better vampire films about two new-in-town brothers who discover a local gang of motorcycle youths are more undead than alive. Younger brother Sam (Corey Haim) works hard to eradicate the ghoulies but his older brother (Jason Patric) falls in love with the bunch's lone female (Jami Gertz). Soon, he finds that he's gradually becoming a vampire himself. An interesting candy-coated meditation on teen conformity with a great rock soundtrack. Sound by Dolby. Filmed in Panavision and Technicolor. Lost Boys Reviews: "...Haim is enormously appealing....Timely, sardonic and shrewd..."
-- Caryn James, New York Times "...[Haim and Feldman] teamed up -- hilariously..." -- Rating: B+
-- Chris Nashawaty, Entertainment Weekly "[The film] has dark ambitions...[with] blood-red lighting hues from RAGING BULL cinematographer Michael Chapman."

$9.79 What would you do if you realized that your charming next-door neighbor (Chris Sarandon) was actually a bloodthirsty vampire? This is the dilemma Charley (William Ragsdale) must confront when he notices some rather strange occurrences on the block. His solution is to enlist the aid of Peter Vincent (Roddy McDowall), a has-been horror film actor who now hosts "Fright Night," a local TV show. Together, the duo set out to rid Charley of his coffin-dwelling neighbor--but their plans go awry when the suave bloodsucker realizes they're on to him.

Lost Boys review
$14.45 Horror author Anne Rice penned the screenplay for this full-blooded adaptation of her novel, which chronicles the life of 18th-century nobleman Louis (Brad Pitt) after he is bitten by powerful, charismatic vampire Lestat (Tom Cruise). Though enthralled with the undead lifestyle at first, Louis is unable to warm up to killing humans and grows despondent. To comfort Louis, Lestat creates another vampire (Kirsten Dunst in a star-making peformance), a young girl who from then on cannot age. Antonio Banderas appears as Armand, a 400-year-old vampire, and Christian Slater plays the radio producer who interviews the remorseful Louis.
Director Neil Jordan captures the lush decadence and erotic fervor of the novel, infusing the film with rich, dusky tones. The big budget is well used to bring each period and place to sharply detailed life, and there is no skimping on the blood or immortal angst. Thandie Newton has a small role as Louis's Creole servant near the beginning of the film, and Jordan regular Stephen Rea appears as a Parisian vampire theater star. INTERVIEW broke weekend box-office records when it premiered and has since earned a spot in the pantheon of great vampire films.

$10.29 Based on a story by STAR WARS creator George Lucas, WILLOW is director Ron Howard's fantasy world of medieval adventure. WILLOW stars Val Kilmer as Madmartigan, a swashbuckling warrior, and Warwick Davis as the title character. In a mythical kingdom, the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh) plots to kill all infants so that the newborn princess, Elora, will never take over the throne. But a midwife sets the baby adrift in a river, and she is rescued by Willow, a farmer in Nelwyn, a peaceful village of trolls, fairies, and little folk. Willow and Madmartigan begin a quest to deliver the baby from evil while being chased by Queen Bavmorda's daughter, Sorsha (Joanne Whalley), sent to bring the baby back to Nockmaar. Director Howard benefited from his affiliation with George Lucas on the film--Lucas's company, Industrial Light and Magic, contributed the Oscar-nominated special effects. Lucas, the executive producer of WILLOW, went on to create a series of books based on the world of WILLOW, the SHADOW WAR series.

$11.29 Teenage geeks Gary (Anthony Michael Hall) and Wyatt (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) are sick of being ignored by girls, abused by cool guys, and forced to spend their weekend nights watching nerdy old sci-fi movies. Left alone for the weekend, they use Wyatt's computer to create Lisa (Kelly LeBrock), a stunningly beautiful woman with a body that stops traffic, a heart of gold, and a genius IQ. The boys embark on an adventure with their creation, going to bars, driving Ferraris, throwing a killer party, and keeping Wyatt's psychotic older brother, Chet (Bill Paxton), in check. But in the end, they learn that wearing cool clothes, hanging out with cool kids, and being popular might not solve all their problems. Written and directed by the king of teen flicks, John Hughes, this film was released after SIXTEEN CANDLES and in the same year as THE BREAKFAST CLUB. Like many of his films, Hughes's WEIRD SCIENCE is set in fictional Shermer, Illinois. A young Robert Downey (sans the "Jr.") appears as Ian, a cool kid who takes pleasure in tormenting Gary and Wyatt.

$7.19 Considered by many to be Roy Roger's best western, this unusual but charming film tells the life story of his beloved horse Trigger, from his birth to his role as Rogers's trusty sidekick. While mostly focused on the relationship between a cowboy and his horse, the film also contains all the makings of a great B-western: tense drama, action, and fast-paced hi-jinks.

Lost Boys film
$9.69 Tobe Hooper (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) directs this gory update of the classic short story by Ambrose Bierce ("Incident on Owl Creek Bridge"). It begins when a young boy, Kevin Reddle, witnesses his father kill his mother and, shortly thereafter, be ripped apart by an unseen entity. Years later, Kevin (Sean Patrick Flannery, BOONDOCK SAINTS), now the county sheriff, is tortured by memories of that fateful night. But his dark past revisits him when "the damned thing" returns and the town's residents are possessed by an unstoppable homicidal fury.
Twenty-four years ago outside a small Texas town, young Kevin Reddle watched helplessly as his oilman father brutally slaughtered his mother before being torn apart by an invisible force. Today as the county sheriff, Kevin (Sean Patrick Flanery) remains haunted by memories of that night and the fear that 'the damned thing' may someday return. Now as the seemingly normal citizens of Cloverdale suddenly explode in a homicidal frenzy, the one man who's uncovered the truth is about to meet his own horrific destiny. Tobe Hooper directs this film costarring Marisa Coughlan.
