This greatest-hits package brings together work from Ed Harcourt's first five albums, making it an excellent place for the uninitiated to sample the artist's sharp popcraft. Harcourt mixes Britpop, indie rock, chamber pop, balladry, and 1960s-era rock with a singer-songwriter sensibility.
UNTIL TOMORROW THEN offers a tasty selection of Harcourt's styles, all of which work together surprisingly well. Even while his singing and multi-instrumental performances impress, it's his songwriting that stands out here (check out "Black Dress" or the gritty, stirring "Apple of My Eye"). The arrangements, which brim over with carefully placed baroque-pop touches, are nothing to shake a stick at, either.
2007 collection from this excellent British singer/songwriter features two new tracks. The Best Of Ed Harcourt, Until Tomorrow Then, compiles tracks from all five of his studio albums, from the scratchy, piano-and-empty-bottle etude of 'Apple Of My Eye' taken from 2000's debut mini-album Maplewood to the insanely catchy baroque-pop of 'Visit From The Dead Dog' from his most recently acclaimed release, 2006's The Beautiful Lie. Along the way the collection takes in the witty playfulness of 'Shanghai' (from 2001's Mercury Prize shortlisted Here Be Monsters), the aching lyricism of 'Fireflies Take Flight' (from 2003's From Every Sphere) and the euphoric surge of 'Born In The '70s' (from 2004's Strangers), plus nine other Harcourt classics. | | Shakira She Wolf CD (2009)
Best: Until Tomorrow Then
$14.39 Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album. It is all about synthesizers and electronic concepts, all mixed with the world sounds that we are used to from Shakira.. sounds from countries like India, the Middle East and her home country of Colombia. She Wolf features a predominantly English track list with a follow up album of new and unique repertoire in Spanish to come in 2010. The title track "She-Wolf " boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name, with a slightly more dancey/ electronic beat (about 125 beats per minute). Though most tracks on the upcoming album will be in English, Shakira chose to service the Spanish version of the first single, "Loba", two weeks before the English single is launched.
Last time around, Shakira touched upon so many ...

Interviews are also included with group members and friends of the band including Ron Jeremy, Mike Watt, Pennywise, No Doubt, The Ziggens, Lordz Of Brooklyn and producers Paul Leary and David Kahne, who discuss the recording of Sublime's final, self-titled album..
The 1998 Sublime documentary Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations is a must-have for serious fans. Stretching past two hours in length, this video/DVD contains numerous interviews with bandmembers, friends, and family members, and is chock-full of live performances from throughout their career. Interviewees include members of No Doubt, punk vet Mike Watt, all the surviving members of Sublime and their extended family, as well as the late Brad Nowell's father and wife. Although a total of 22 live tracks are included, not all are presented in their entirety (a frustrating trend with most music videos nowadays), but since the majority of Sublime's fans were probably not lucky enough to catch the group live ...
