This artist masterfully splices these groove-based genres into a cohesive sound that threatens to send the dance floor into unstoppable spasms of energy – which wouldn’t be a bad thing, now would it? Get Out On The Floor “Music makes me feel like getting out on the floor and dancing,” says Victor Cruet, the mind behind JaimieCole, “especially house, DnB and hip-hop.” And it’s his goal to make the listener feel exactly the same way with these distinctively danceworthy musical stylings. “It’s a sudden burst of emotional energy from within.” And therein lies the key to JaimieCole’s songwriting. Cruet doesn’t just go for moveable rhythms; he puts real emotional impact into the songs, pulling the fan’s strings on every level, inspiring dance floor mayhem with music that cuts to the bone. What Are You Passionate About? The key, says JaimieCole, to making music that moves the listener, is for the listener to feel the artist’s passion. It must be contagious. And the only way the listener will feel it is if the artist is feeling it, too. “Create what you’re passionate about.” By transforming inner drive to a musical manifestation, JaimieCole pours passion into the audience, which promptly pours into the dance space and sends up a rhythmic chant to the dance gods, thanks to the sacrament of this artist’s songwriting. Audience JaimieCole looks directly to the audience to find inspiration. His focus is always on what will set the mood, build the atmosphere, make the audience feel the vibe. “As a DJ, my audience influences me. The setting I have in mind from parties and ...
| | Alex Gladwin Lucid Melodies CD (2006)
Franz Liszt: Ungarische songs
$11.49 'Lucid Melodies' is the eagerly anticipated debut album from Alex Gladwin, following on from the well received "It's Only Everything" EP released in late 2005. This new release features the four tracks from the EP, along with six all new tracks (and maybe even a couple of secrets....) This album has been a long time in the making, recorded over numerous different sessions between January 2005 up to the most recent sessions in May 2006 with producer Ben Jones in London. Despite this, the album has a consistent feel throughout, which has been described as shimmering, dreamy pop/indie/rock. The songs are based on an acoustic template, which is built upon to varying degrees on each song, with other songs being kept as acoustic and simple as possible. While a lot of the music has a light and airy feel, this is contrasted with often thought provoking, deep and/or emotional lyrics, to form a unique and dreamy sound. All the tracks on this album are written and performed by Alex Gladwin, a 21-year-old singer/song-writer/musician from London in England. 2006 has been a busy year so far for me, with a lot of writing, recording sessions for this album and finally starting to gig in London. Most of my thoughts this year have been about which songs to record for this album, aside from the ones that were already recorded for the EP (and Christmas 2005 UK radio single 'Just This Time of Year').I had a large backlog of tracks I felt were worthy, but looking back, more than half of this album was actually born out of a couple of sudden creative spurts, first around February/March 2006 (State of Mind, Slow Down & Something New) and then recently, right before the final sessions in May 2006 (Closer to You, Don't Ask Till Tomorrow & Lucid Dreams). Which makes it all the more remarkable, and kudos to the producer Ben Jones, that there is such a consistent feel and sound throughout the album, considering this big mix of new and old material. In terms of inspiration for the writing, I find it hard to really describe and over analyse, but lyrically it is mostly ...
