Before the Kinks and the Who came along and planted the seeds for what is commonly referred to as proto-punk, several obscure and/or one-hit U.S. wonders beat the two aforementioned British acts to the punch -- the Kingsmen, the Trashmen, and the Sonics. While the Kingsmen and the Trashmen managed to score a massive hit each ("Louie, Louie" and "Surfin' Bird," respectively), the Sonics never broke through outside of their home city of Tacoma. Regardless, ...

$7.99 "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:19Out of a dark, damp, cluttered basement in the suburban town of Babylon, NY came a desire. A desire to sing and make music to the Lord. A phone call to a friend in the summer of 2001 brought four men down to this dusty basement. Shoddy equipment, extension cords every which way, and powdered iced tea fueled the madness. With a goal to reach the Christian coffeehouse scene, the songs emerged from the mind of MARK GALANTE to the overloaded speakers of our makeshift PA. The equipment got better, the songs got tighter, but with just a few backyard barbeque gigs under our belt, the foursome shrunk to just two. The band was gone, but the songs live on.After a short hiatus for basement renovations, Mark Galante and best friend Dave Dyott set out to deliver the songs to a digital format. The CD began to take shape. The first cut, a soulful, guitar-driven, two-hand tapping ( that would make even EVH proud ) anthem called.....The Rock. It is...and it does. Track 2 .... a smooth strat sound, winding down a path, searching for answers, and being found by the Saviour, on...The Road to Emmaus. Track 3.... Die For a Friend slows the tempo, but lifts the spirit. Track four is a gently-spoken, softly-strumming. " I'll carry you when times are tough " .....Let it Go. Track 5.... The Sinful Nature....the wages of sin is eternal damnation, the blood on the cross our only salvation.....spread the word! Track 6.... The Son of Man came ...
