Mustache songs
$10.79 Hip-O Records' Songs for the Car is part of the Universal Music Family series of compilation albums intended for children. This one is for "ages 2+," as the cover proclaims. But parents noting that and observing the cute illustration of a car on the front cover might want to peruse the back cover to see the contents before picking this disc up and putting it in the car CD player. On the basis of this example, it looks as though the series has been approached from an outside-in attitude, that is, that record company executives began with the question, "What's another way to exploit the catalog?," as opposed to, "What music actually would be appropriate for toddlers?" In the collection's defense, it can be said that there are songs to which small children might be expected to respond, such as Bob Dorough's "Three Is a Magic Number," which gets into times tables; Bobby McFerrin's "Mańana Iguana"; and even James Brown's "I Got Ants in My Pants (And I Want to Dance), Pt. I." Also, the songs tend to have catchy choruses and to maintain interesting beats likely to keep feet bouncing in those car seats. But this isn't really ...

| | Geoff Jardine Once Was A Big Man CD (2007)
Mustache music CDs
$16.45 Bio for Geoff Jardine On the release of his new CD “Once was a Big Man”I am a Bluenoser from Nova Scotia born in CAPE BRETON and raised in Halifax. By 15 or 16 I sat in on my younger brother (Ainslie } A.J.’s drum kit. Ainslie would later go on and play with Dutch Mason’s Blues band for 23 years. It was around this time there was a group of friends in our community and we hung out and played music together. I met whom I call my partner of foolishness Paul McNeill who played bass.He wrote 6 songs on the CD. We were into everything you could imagine in the 60’s and 70’s. We played and jammed together throughout the years. I played drums for many years with many different styles, recorded and toured a bit. I have played drums, taught drums and sold drums for over 30 years. Blah Blah Blah .But it always comes back to the blues for me. I had been drinking for years and have been battling addiction for a long, long time. I still do. One thing that I learned is you can’t play when you are drunk.. So I fight to stay sober. You might say I have the Blues. And I still borrow my Brother’s drum kit. I pawned my set.I sing all the songs on the CD. I am not a crooner thats for sure but I sure as hell feel what I sing. As John Lee Hooker said the blues is in him and it gotta come out. I think that applies to me as well. This is a Blues CD although the title track has a blues/country feel. There is a boogie, some shuffles, some slow blues and some funky blues. There are 8 original songs on the CD and 4 cover songs. I had had great friends Paul McNeill (bass), Bruce Timmins (guitars), Jerry Carruthers ...
