Frederick Keeve is a noted filmmaker ("From Russia to Hollywood," starring Gregory Peck and many other legendary Academy-Award winning actors) and is also a classically trained musician, beginning piano lessons at the age of five. His piano ability enabled him to win many National Merit competitions and other awards. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in Music Composition, and has also done many years of graduate work at various colleges and universities, including a theatre/musical theatre degree at Oklahoma City University. Mr. Keeve has not only composed the musical score for the above-mentioned movie "From Russia to Hollywood," but has musical directed many shows including "Bye Bye Birdie," "Fame," "Babes in Arms," produced and appeared in a Gerswhin Revue, etc. Mr. Keeve is now writing and preparing a theatre piece to be performed in Los Angeles next year that will feature several pop songs with lyrics that he has composed. When Mr. Keeve entered UCLA, he decided to focus on music composition. After graduating, he begin to spontaneously create improvised piano pieces that are more than just relaxation and meditation pieces, but a transformational way for Mr. Keeve (and hopefully the listener) to connect with his or her higher self. Mr. Keeve discovered that he had the extraordinary ability to spontaneously create beautiful piano music from an idea, an image, or a theme. "Echoes of the Soul" is the genesis of eleven instrumental pieces which have been over fifteen years in the making. The enclosed CD, "Echoes of the Soul," is professionally recorded and produced, and includes eleven original piano pieces, with additional instrumentation—flute, sax, percussion—on some tracks. All, except two, of these pieces are improvised. This CD took a year to complete--from the initial recording, to the editing and adding in the nature and outer space effects. On this CD, Mr. Keeve is joined by three gifted musicians--Diane Hsu, flautist; Vanessa Brown, percussionist; and Jimmy Street, saxophonist.The pieces in "Echoes of the Soul" are connected by five elemental 'bridges'--earth, wind, air, fire, and space.
