Released in 2007, VEIN presents reworked tracks from LOVE, the '05 outing by the U.K.-based industrial act Foetus, aka Jim Thirlwell. Among the artists contributing to the electronica-leaning collection are Mike Patton, Matmos, Tweaker, and Fennesz, who gives "Pareidolia" his signature static-tinged treatment. A nice entry point into the work of the uncompromising performer, who has recorded under variations of the Foetus name for more than 20 years, this compilation should garner Thirlwell attention beyond his dedicated cult following.
