Black Sabbath Led Zeppelin (Plant & Bonham), Judas Priest. Bands that set the template for the future of Heavy Rock and Metal all have a common thread. They all came from central England from an area called âThe Black Countryâ. The V-Rats are Black Country born and bred and very aware and immensely proud of this heritage. Their debut album âIntelligent Designâ is an eclectic mix of these roots as well as giving a nod towards the contemporary end of the rock spectrum. The V-Rats hail from a session based back ground working with artists from Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Tygers Of Pan Tang to name a few. Because of this, the band has major sponsor deals in the US with Spector Bass Guitars and Moser Custom Guitars. In the UK; Ashdown and Marshall Amplification. The V-Rats were already being used as a âband for hireâ for live work so the transition to The V-Rats becoming a band in their own right was a natural progression (with the bands name coming from a comment made by Deep Purples manager years earlier). The V-Rats album Intelligent Design was recorded at Magnums M2 studio with the Magnum theme continuing with Intelligent Design featuring original artwork by world renowned artist Rodney Matthews (whoâs album covers have given rise to a rabid cult following of his work). The V-Rats are now gearing up for their incendiary live shows in 2009 that kicked off in Los Angeles.What ...
