| | Don Ho Greatest Hits CD (1969)
Ti Que Te Importa songs
$6.05 Don Ho's very name has become a veritable punchline. Yet his achievements can not be dismissed as easily as an obvious joke. Few recording artists have been so comfortable in so many genres--Don Ho masterfully handles anything from country to light rock to luau listening. He's almost a Jimmy Buffet from an earlier ...
| | Fabulous Wailers CD (1959)
Ti Que Te Importa album
$12.59 As any quick perusal of old Top 40 rock & roll station playlists will attest, singles were where the shakin' action was, as rock & roll albums were scarce as hen's teeth back in those pre-Beatle days. But when the record companies decided to issue one, it was usually an artifact of high rockin' value and some major influence. Naysayers to the contrary, this debut album by the Northwest's first great rock & roll combo is just such an artifact. The Wailers dispensed crude, greasy, largely instrumental rock & roll music for those who came to shake it up and shake it down, and it's all on fine, rhythmic, open display here. This album is amazing in its own simplistic, nuthin'-special way, its crudity almost palpable. There's only one vocal aboard, Kent Morrill's "Dirty Robber," later covered and torched by the Sonics. Everything else is built on the riff-sturdy bones of their biggest hit, "Tall Cool One." With two guitars, piano, sax, and drums -- no bass player anywhere on here, another crudeness indicator of the times and locale it was recorded in -- all blasting away like they're working a VFW Hall dance, hoof shakers like "Wailin'," "Shanghaied," "Beat Guitar" (featured in the soundtrack of the misguided Jerry Lee Lewis bioflick Great Balls Of Fire), and "Gunnin' For Peter" stand loud and ...

| | John Pederson, trumpet & Ross Pederson, drums Darn That Dream CD (2007)
Ti Que Te Importa CD music
$12.65 "For a long time, I have wanted to do a CD project with my son Ross! He started out on the trumpet when he was 6 years old and played for Wynton Marsalis. Wynton said, "Man, keep blowin' man, you're going to be "great" some day." By age 13, he had played trumpet "half his life" and came to me and said......."I want to quit this "trumpet stuff"..........so, I had a bass guitar in the closet and got him some lessons and he played bass for me in my school jazz band. But his "inner musical soul" was not satisfied! His older brother Scott was athletically inclined, but played the drum set in school and the drum kit sat "unused" in our basement. Ross started to play the drums incessantly, and got himself "hired" in a "half-step- chordal grudge band!!" It was then, that I got him lessons with a University drum instructor(Mike Blake),75 miles away, and paid for lessons for three years!! Ross is now the drummer for the University of North Texas, One O'Clock Jazz Band. As for me, the old man, I still play gigs around town and am guest soloist for college and high school bands. I have recently received an national mouthpiece ...
