$12.69 James Gibbs III was born in Newark, NJ and grew up in Irvington. He began his musical roots at 9 playing the alto saxophone and the clarinet. At 10 years old James became the first and the youngest person to ever to become a full time band member of the Irvington High School marching band. He played second chair in alto saxophone section then eventually moving up to the first chair in the trumpet section and later on becoming a section leader in which he held until he graduated. His love for jazz music and the trumpet started around the age of 7 watching Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis play on television and wanted to be like them. Do to the lack of trumpets at his school, he had to play the saxophone and the clarinet until trumpets became available. At 14, he studied trumpet under the leadership of Doug Howell (8th grade). $16.45 Born in Eugene, Oregon, Cat got her first guitar at 8 years old and began playing piano and writing songs at age 9. By the age of 14 she was playing guitar professionally and toured the country playing her original music, and by 18 she was recording professionally in the studio. It wasn't long afterwards when she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she played bass, guitar and keyboard for many Bay Area artists, including Bob Weir.Cat's true love is the guitar, and has been influenced by the best: Jimmy Page, David Gilmore, Jimmy Hendrix, George Harrison, and 'especially my own guitarist who is truly one of the best; Jon Mulvey. 'Recordings. All of Cat's recent music is released on her own Catastrophe Music label that she founded with her business partner and band mate Jon Mulvey (as well as their previous label, Catapult Records). Cat wrote all of the songs on her three CDs, yet she still has plenty of material to work with. She has written over a thousand songs in her career and continues to be as prolific as ever. Cat's writing style incorporates many genres, often with a sardonic satirical twist. On her latest release 'Be Happy' she has Alt Rock, House, Industrial and even Country song's that all have Cat's distinctive sound. 'Ho' off of 'Cat III Be Happy' is one of her songs that make fun of the image of women often portrayed in the entertainment business. Over 100,000 Cat CD's have been sold, and counting.
