Treasures in Earthen VesselsII Corinthians 4:7-11Jermaine Richardson was born and raised on Chicago's Westside and began singing and rapping in high school in 1991. He and a childhood friend formed his the group "Mighty Trif" in 1993, and shortly after joined Tung Twista and the Speedknots. It was between a new direction and conflicting interest that caused Jermaine to leave the group in 1995. In 1996, after being introduced by a mutual friend to producer Jonathan "J.B." Whitaker, Jermaine started working with the producer affiliated with Chicago's CWAL Records (Twista, Do or Die, The Legendary Trakster). But in 1998, Jermaine was lead by God to use his gift to glorify Him and under the Holy Spirit's conviction left the label. Reggie Vanderbilt began singing at the age of eight with the Vanderbilt family choir. In 1990, Reggie had become a member of a group named K.O.D.A., a popular R&B singing and dance group. His group was managed by Brooke Payne (New Edition) and opened for acts such as 112, Johnny Gill and Mint Condition. After being in the group for seven years, God had a calling on his life and Reggie answered and began singing for the Lord in 1997. In 1998, Reggie joined Truth and Deliverance Christian Church where he met Jermaine and the two joined the T.D.C.C choir, Voices Of Truth. It was nothing but destiny that brought these two anointed and appointed men together through kindred spirits, their passion for souls and their tremendous love for music. The Holy Ghost inspired this two-man collaboration, Jermaine Richardson and Reggie Vanderbilt to choose their name from a scripture in 2nd Corinthians, which states, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." God brought Brian to a career in music. At the age of six he lost his left leg in a lawn mowing accident but with the help of his mother, discovered a talent he didn't know he had.
