Bon Bon French Femme album
$11.18 It's no secret that John Mayer is a 21st Century Fox, wining and dining women all through tabloid headlines, so it's about time he delivered an album that traded upon his loverman persona -- and Battle Studies is that record in spades. Retaining more than a modicum of the slick, soul-blues undertones of Continuum, Mayer fashions a modern groove album, a record that maintains a smooth seductive vibe so thoroughly it spills into a one-man band cover of "Crossroads." Mayer remains somewhat of a disciple of Slowhand, but he shows an unusual interest in the big AOR stylings of Journeyman, along with Stevie Ray Vaughan's In Step, creating a coolly clean blend of synths and Strats, one that's as much about texture as it is about song.something perfectly appropriate for a ...

Bon Bon French Femme CD music
$19.34 It's a commonly held opinion among fans and band alike that Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' lone live album, 1986's Pack Up the Plantation, didn't quite capture the group at its peak, so there has been a long-standing need for another live set, which 2009's Live Anthology finally provides. Like its closest cousin, Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-1985, Live Anthology almost overcompensates for the long wait by offering almost too much music, cherrypicking highlights from 1978 to ...

| | Lou Reed New Sensations CD (1984) Reissue; Remastered
Bon Bon French Femme songs
$11.18 Lou Reed never struck anyone as one of the happiest guys in rock & roll, so some fans were taken aback when his 1984 album New Sensations kicked off with "I Love You, Suzanne," a catchy up-tempo rocker that sounded a lot like a pop tune. After reaffirming his status as one of rock's greatest poets with The Blue Mask and Legendary Hearts, what was Reed doing here? Lou was having a great time, and his pleasure was infectious -- New Sensations is a set of straight-ahead rock & roll that ranks with the most purely enjoyable albums of ...

Bon Bon French Femme music CDs
$13.69 Convergence is a minimalist "process music" composition; one continuous track that gradually drifts out of phase while building to the apex, then slowly subsides back to its starting point. This organic ur-drone is perfect for trancing out, meditative moments and continuous background play.Reviews:...a gorgeous example of droning ambient soundscape. Well-done ambient sounds, I might add. On this disc they achieve a cathedral-like vibe, building somber waves of sound like a dying pipe organ. The disc is just one long track, nearly 48 minutes, of drones that ebb and flow in regular waves. The ambient sound never really goes anywhere, and thus is the closest thing i've heard to a "true" ambient album in some time... A fine disc for background music... droning, soothing, even relaxing... Strongly recommended for those who think the entire ambient genre has drifted from its original intent and focus.Dead Angel... leads off with a repeated muffled ringing sound resembling that of someone playing a pipe organ deep inside a cave, far away. Slowly, the constituent parts of this sound start to appear and fall into their own distinctive patterns. Convergence is a very intriguing and interesting work from an artist who has drawn from diverse influences and started to develop his own unique voice.Ujamaa's Ambient ExperienceWhen I finally got around to playing this, I immediately recognized that this was not something in the vein of, say, the KLF's "Chill Out" or other such more rhythmically... and listening... oriented ambient works. Rather, this was the real deal, a work very much in the vein of "Discreet Music", etc. So... listening to it really defeated the purpose. Instead, over the past couple of months, I've been instead living with the work, dropping it in along with other 'classic ambient' works, putting it on long cycle-plays, ...

Bon Bon French Femme songs
$6.39 Although they have been meaning to think up a more exotic story, Hillel and Josh actually met through Josh’s mom, at a birthday party in Connecticut. They didn’t talk too much at the party, as Josh was intent on impressing Hillel’s friend Walter with his supposed knowledge of Latin American history. Over the next few weeks, they met again at various community events and at Jeremiah House, the Catholic Worker house Hillel shared with his friend Steve in Bridgeport. Hillel and Josh moved to New York City around the same time, in the spring of 2003. Josh was staying with his friend Boris on the Lower East Side, and Hillel moved in with Walter in Washington Heights. They played some songs for each other and traded home recordings, and Hillel recorded a few of Josh’s new songs at Walter’s house. At some point, Josh proposed that they collaborate on some songs, and their partnership was born. Through the winter and spring of 2004-2005, they worked on a number of new songs, providing each other with feedback on music and lyrics. In the early summer of 2005, Hillel’s friend Chris Brown, a Canadian musician who had been making good records and playing around New York for years, agreed to record their debut EP. They went to Chris’s house in Brooklyn and played a few songs for him, and he said “grooving” and proclaimed that he had some ideas. The next time they met, Chris was eating breakfast at the local diner with his sound engineer, Lurch. They had been up all night driving back from Canada, and Lurch was on the phone with someone who had annoyed them, claiming to be Chris’s lawyer and threatening a lawsuit. During the summer of 2005, Hillel and ...
