Blue Play
$8.80 Released on Fuel 2000, The Sky Is Falling is actually a reissue of the Doin' Business As... Derringer, Bogert & Appice album that was first released in Europe in 2001. In this short-lived power trio, guitarist and producer Rick Derringer reportedly "replaced" Jeff Beck in the "follow-up" to 1973's Beck, Bogert & Appice album (their rhythm section is, of course, made up of ex-Vanilla Fudge members bassist Tim Bogert and ...
| | Thoushaltnot White Beyond CD (2003)
Blue Play
$12.39 Industrial/synth pop, far from being something dead and gone, has just as much of a dedicated fanbase keeping it going on a quiet level as any other past musical form. Thus Thou Shalt Not, a Pennsylvania trio dedicated to the belief that Nine Inch Nails wasn't the final shot across the bow as such. The common blend of restrained elegance and looming dread which can be found in this approach -- lead singer Alex Reed is most definitely not trying to sound wracked like Trent Reznor -- calls to mind what a band like Cause and Effect might have tried if a couple of Warp Records releases were in their collections, and they were a touch more aggressive. But only a touch, and indeed, one of the band's better points is how carefully they use silence and understatement, even in their busier arrangements, to create impact. The way "Inside of You, In Spite of You" and "The Insistence on Solid Floors" suddenly burst forward in glitchy clips; how "Glaciers" (in interesting contrast to the titular object) hits a steady acid house pulse at points, gives a sense that the band doesn't not dance as well. "Cardinal Directions" and "G.L.M" wrap up in a whirl of ...

$11.39 The Born Again Movement Well for all those interested lets start at the beginning. Two young boys (Obie Cheeks and Freekie Marc) growing up in Norfolk,Virginia never knew they would end up pursing a musical career. With a focus on baskeball in highschool some how the two found a love for performing in talent shows as LostBoyz, Lost Souljahz, The Collaboration, S.O.N meaning Souljahz Of Norfolk. After winning competitions and getting recognition the two realized they had a rare talent. Unfortunately they started using their talents for the secular world. Known as the FreekieTwinnz (Obie 1 and Freekie 1) the two have performed at numerous venues around the Southeast, including various colleges and clubs in the Atlanta area. They have sold thousands of their independent Cds and have won talent competitions throughout the States and oversees. However no matter how much they tryed, how much the accomplished, how much they got offered, and no matter how close they got to success that door wasnt meant to open. The two had always been saved since childhood but never lived the life as born again christians. After a few years of living in sin physically, mentally, spiritually and musically the two was overwelmed. The Lord had been calling them on numerous occassions but they were to busy to hear His voice. Obie still living in Atlanta while Markiss moved back to Norfolk the two started going to church regularly. Not only going to church they began to get involved, meanwhile the two have taken a break from making any music to focus on where they life would be headed. After nearly a year the two began to make music again, however there still was a conflict of interest. The two still used the name FreekieTwinnz. Miracles happen and dreams come true because not only did the Lord transform these boys lives and music, He also spoke a word ...
| | Gavin Degraw CD (2008)
Blue Play
$11.29 Following the success of his major-label debut, CHARIOT (later reissued with a bonus disc of acoustic versions called CHARIOT STRIPPED), New York singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw returns with his self-titled second album. The album is just as melodic, mellow, and radio-friendly as his debut was, but overall GAVIN DEGRAW features stronger songwriting, as exemplified by the first single "In Love With A Girl" and the tender "Next To Me." Less sleepy than the likes of Jack Johnson or the Dave Matthews Band, Gavin ...
