Standard Screen; Soundtrack English One of the all time greatest games in college basketball history, the 1983 NCAA championship between the dominant Houston Cougars and the low rated North Carolina Wolfpack could not have been scripted better by a team of Hollywood writers. When he recorded this album, his lone date as a leader, trumpeter Tommy Turrentine (who was a member of Max Roach's group along with his brother, the soon-to-be famous tenor Stanley Turrentine) seemed to have a potentially great future. Unfortunately, ill health would eventually force his retirement. Turrentine's set for Time (which has been reissued on CD by Bainbridge) actually features the musicians of Roach's quintet (including brother Stanley, trombonist Julian Priester, bassist Bob Boswell, and Roach himself) plus pianist Horace Parlan. The trumpeter contributed five of the seven songs (which are joined by Horace Parlan's "Blues for J.P." and Bud Powell's "Webb City") on this fine straight-ahead hard bop set. All of the musicians play up to par and the results are swinging ...

1983 NCAA Championship - NC State vs. Houston film
$8.59 Popular video game character Lara Croft returns to the big screen in this sequel to LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER. Intrepid British archaeologist Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) has made perhaps the most important archaeological discovery in history: an orb that leads to the mythical Pandora's Box. Unfortunately, the orb falls into the hands of Jonathan Reiss (Ciaran Hinds), an evil scientist who deals in killer viruses and hopes to sell the secrets of the box as the ultimate weapon. Recruited by British Intelligence to get the orb back from Reiss, Lara enlists Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler), a British marine turned mercenary--and her former love interest--to help. The two embark on an adventure that spans continents in an attempt to regain the orb. Lara is a walking advertisement for "girl power." She's brilliant, athletic, courageous, and saucy. She flips jet skis, parachutes to safety from tall buildings, dives, rides horses--nothing seems beyond her. Best of all, Lara is one ...

| | We Are Going To Eat You DVD (1980) Subtitled
1983 NCAA Championship - NC State vs. Houston DVD
$11.09 While chasing a criminal named Rolex (Melvin Wong), Agent 999 (Tsui Siu-keung) stumbles upon an even greater evil--a primitive, impoverished village that has resorted to cannibalism. An expert at kung fu, Agent 999 must decide whether he will join his old foe in fighting off the hordes of crazed, masked peasants. WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU is director Tsui Hark's second film, following his debut, BUTTERFLY MURDERS, which also explores the horror genre. Without the budget for complicated special effects, WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU relies on energetic editing (a Hark trademark) and gross-out scenes to move the story along. The gore has a campiness that will appeal to the most bloodthirsty fans of slasher films--in one scene a man is sawed in two, while in another a beating heart is ripped from a man's chest. Comedic elements are added in the characters of a bumbling thief and a cross-dressing male with a voracious sexual appetite. Hark would later return to the horror genre by producing A CHINESE GHOST STORY and directing GREEN SNAKE.
Agent 999 is sent to a rural Chinese village to arrest a bandit called Rolex, who sports ...
