| | Emery I'm Only A Man CD Emery Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
On 2007's I'M ONLY A MAN, Emery's third album for the Tooth & Nail label, the Christian alternative-rock act offers up more dramatic, guitar-driven screamo tunes. This time around, however, the Seattle, Washington-based band focuses more on melody, crafting some of its most straightforward and catchy songs to date, as revealed on the energetic "Party Song," which finds frontman Toby Morell in refreshingly subtle form.
The third release by Seattle transplants Emerey shows the band's musical growth and expertise. Includes a DVD with no further information whatsoever.
Emery: Matt Carter (guitar); Josh Head (keyboards); Toby Morrell, Devin Shelton (bass guitar); Dave Powell (drums).
Additional personnel: Blake Plonsky (percussion).

Emery I'm Only A Man Songs I'm Only A Man Music Review Average Rating: (3 out of 5 stars) I'm quite surprised, actually. You don't expect the screaming would prevail on this release compared to the other ones and that's a good listen coming from 'I'm Only A Man' is supposed to do. My first Emery album to borrow and it's undeniably catchy as it channels through here. Arguably their best effort to date. Good one if you like 'melodic hardcore' it's called. First. Emery is an overall amazing band period. They are great guys with more talent than most of their fellow bands. Powerfull music with a postitive message. The are hands down one of my favorite bands. The Question, their previous record stayed in my cd player for almost a year. I keep their cd's with me wherever I'm at. If you're wondering if you should pick this album up, stop reading and buy it.

Not the Brightest Star By all means I took a my lunch break from work the day the album came out. Being a huge fan of the band this was an instant buy. Upon listening to the CD I can't help but say this is not the best work they have done. I really wanted to like this album but when you have heard their previous work you can't help but think this isn't the brightest shinning star. Listening to Emery on their last two albums I was able to get a excellent mix of great vocals with inovative screamo injected into it. Honestly probably the only band I've heard to succefully do it but this album seems like screaming was an after thought and not really a main part of the experience. If you really want to hear Emery at their finest listen the The Question and the Week's End. In short I guess every band has an album the just isn't the best they have to offer welcome to Emery's red headed step child called "I'm only a Man". | | Demolition String Band Pulling Up Atlantis CD (2001)
I'm Only A Man album
$30.29 When a band starts with a great name like Demolition String Band, a few catchy originals, and a cover of Madonna's "Like a Prayer," they're bound to be on the right track. Starting out as a bluegrass unit in 1996, vocalist Elena Skye and guitarist Boo Reiners morphed into a country band with real twang. Pulling up Atlantis follows their 1999 debut, One Dog Town, leaning heavy on hard-loving and hard-living honky tonk. "She Went outta Town" tells the familiar story of man who begins to drink and prowl as soon as his good woman's out of sight, while the title track conjures up the world of dreams buried far beneath the ocean's surface. Much of the band's sound relies on Skye's vocals, a rich country twang with a contemporary edge, and Reiners' electric guitar. Reiners ...

| | Aaron Barker Echoes CD (2006)
I'm Only A Man songs
$18.99 Aaron was born in San Antonio, TX and began his musical career in a “Variety Band”. Driving his bus from place to place he began playing with original melodies and lyrics hoping to create his own songs. His first attempt, “Baby Blue” recorded by George Strait on the “If You Ain’t Lovin’, You Ain’t Livin’” album and went number one in Billboard. Aaron began development his own sound, and refining his original material in small clubs and cafes where he would play on weekends. One night after a long father and son talk, he wrote “Love Without End, Amen.” Believing this would be a song that he would play for his family, Barker decided to see what would happen if he sent it to George Strait. Strait recorded it and it stayed at the number one position in Billboard Magazine for five consecutive weeks. After a recording deal with Atlantic Records, Aaron continued his writing again and landed two number one singles in a row on George Straits’, “Easy Come, Easy Go” album, “I’d Like To have That One Back” and the title cut. In addition Strait included “Down Louisiana Way” and “I’ll Always Be Loving You” on his album “Lead On.” Aarons’ “Honky-Tonkin’ Fool” was the first single from Doug Supernaws’ BNA debut album. Doug also released “Not Enough Hours In The Night.” George Strait released “I Know She Still Loves Me” which can only be found on his box set along with four other great songs of Aaron’s’. “I Can Still Make Cheyenne” was released by George Strait and went straight to the number one position. Aaron made the charts his home again with Clay Walkers’ release “Watch This”, and “You’re ...

| | Swinging Mademoiselles Deux CD (2008)
I'm Only A Man CD music
$13.49 Although, as its title suggests, Swinging Mademoiselles Deux is the follow-up to the earlier collection Swinging Mademoiselles: Groovy French Sounds from the 60s, it is actually a better album than its predecessor. Once again, the contents have been assembled from French pop records featuring female singers that roughly correspond to the era of Swinging London, say, 1966, hence the title. These are the equivalents to the contemporaneous British hits of Marianne Faithfull, Cilla Black, and Petula Clark. In fact, the exact French equivalent to Petula Clark is...Petula Clark herself, who was just as big a star in France singing in French as she was in Britain and America singing in English. Here, she takes on a French adaptation of the hit "Needles and Pins" with an entirely different lyric, called "La Nuit N'en Finit Plus." Her inclusion on the album points to its superiority over its predecessor. While some of the biggest stars of what was called the yé-yé movement in French pop are still missing, many of the singers here are better known than the ones on the first disc. As the subtitle puts it, the album contains "More groovy French pop from the 60s including Brigitte Bardot, Petula Clark, Jacqueline Taďeb [who actually was on the first album] and Zouzou." Bardot's selection, "Ecoute le Temps," the theme from the TV show Saint-Tropez...Vole, actually bears a 1971 copyright, but no matter. This is still ...
