| | Very Best Of Mick Jagger CD Mick Jagger Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Mick Jagger never achieved much commercial success with his solo material (certainly nothing that touched the hem of his work with the Rolling Stones), but across four solo albums and a number of singles and outtakes he managed to put together a respectable body of work. That work is well selected and represented on 2007's THE VERY BEST OF MICK JAGGER, the singer's first solo collection.
In contrast to the Stones' gritty, blues-drenched rock, Jagger's solo work has always been unabashedly pop, and that tendency is evident on VERY BEST. From the disco-inflected "Just Another Night" to the bouncy call-to-arms "Let's Work" to his duet with David Bowie on "Dancing In the Streets," Jagger delivers polished products that are as edible as candy. In addition to his chart hits, the set features a few choice rarities, including 1970's "Memo to Turner," and a blues-drenched cover of Sonny Boy Williamson's "Checkin' Up On My Baby." A DVD featuring interviews, videos, and live performances, rounds out the package.

Very Best Of Mick Jagger album
$7.59 Combining layered vocals with a heavily looped guitar sound, "Until We Sleep" begins ABOUT FACE with an almost Byrds-like quality, while the gentleness of the acoustic opening to the ballad "Murder" disguises its homicidal subject matter. Both "Love On the Air," and ...
| | David Gilmour CD (1978) Remastered
Very Best Of Mick Jagger CD music
$6.79 Before David Gilmour virtually "became" Pink Floyd he was always the most likely member of the band (with the possible exception of de-facto leader Roger Waters) to release a solo album. 1978's welcome eponymous debut showcased his multi-faceted performing talents.
The album opener "Mihalis" is an ANIMALS period instrumental, which, along with "Raise My Rent," sounds like an outtake from that album. The beautiful "There's No Way Out of Here" begins with a lonely harmonica and, with "No Way" and "I Can't Breathe Anymore," expounds the album's main theme of being trapped in an untenable situation. "Cry From the Streets" is a nod to the blues, while the lovely "So Far Away" harks back to the ballads of OBSCURED BY CLOUDS. Almost a missing mid-period Floyd album, this solo effort is a must-have for all Pink Floyd fans.
By the time of David Gilmour's solo debut, he had not only established himself ...

| | Traveling Wilburys, Vol. 1 CDs (1988) With DVD & 40-page collectible book
Very Best Of Mick Jagger songs
$39.09 The meat of the order here is definitely the first disc, TRAVELING WILBURYS, VOL. 1, a certified masterpiece with five legends at the top of their game. Roy Orbison's "You're Not Alone Anymore" may be his finest performance since the '60s; George Harrison's "Handle With Care" is as good as any solo Beatle hit; and Tom Petty's "Last Night" shows why he belongs rubbing shoulders with Orbison, a Beatle, and Dylan. Disc 2 features their follow-up record, TRAVELING WILBURYS, VOL. 3, and while it still holds up, the material is not quite as strong as on VOL. 1 (sadly, Roy Orbison, for one thing, had passed away by this point). There are still some gems, though, mostly from Petty: the country stomp "Poor House," the longing "New Blue Moon," and the playful "Inside Out." Disc 3 is a DVD featuring complete music videos and a short behind-the-scenes documentary about the supergroup. This is a must-have for fans of the band and of the legendary musicians that comprise it.

| | Elton John CDs (1970) Deluxe Edition
Very Best Of Mick Jagger album
$19.59 Elton John's second album was his first to be released in the U.S., and the difference between it and its predecessor, EMPTY SKY, is palpable and immediate. ELTON JOHN opens with "Your Song," a halting ballad that is one of the most moving love songs in the modern pop canon. The album also marks John's fruitful association with Gus Dudgeon and arranger Paul Buckmaster (who'd previously collaborated on David Bowie's "Space Oddity"). The team came up with a spare orchestral sound that surrounds the singer and his piano ...
| | Doors Soft Parade CD (1969) Gold; Remastered
Very Best Of Mick Jagger CD music
$14.42 Dismissed by the benighted as the Doors' "pop album," SOFT PARADE is one of the band's most adventurous recordings, utilizing strings and horns without resorting to schlocky over-production and moving far beyond their blues roots. Morrison was fully into his shaman phase by 1969, and his obsession with that image is reflected ...

His mother is a former singer for A&M Records, and now sings Christian gospel for her current church. LAX found his love for music in the youthful movement of Hip-Hop. LAX became involved in the music industry, professionally, since 2000, and started a record company called Sixela, Inc. In 2001, he produced the album, Humble Beginnings, for his brother, G-Quest.
